Yesterday, Shane and Kylie dove into Whiplash Diagnosis and Management, refreshing their knowledge on its importance, impact, and best-practice care. Continuous learning like this ensures our patients receive safe, effective, and evidence-based treatment.

Whiplash in Australia, by the numbers:
- Makes up about 75% of all survivable motor vehicle injuries
- Occurs in around 106 people per 100,000 annually
- Costs the health system and economy over $950 million each year

They also got to catch up with some Murdoch, Chiropractic Australia, and local chiropractor superstars - sharing insights, ideas, and a passion for better patient outcomes.

The seminar took place in the award-winning 360 Building at Murdoch Uni – a beautiful space that inspires learning, but the real focus was on enhancing skills for better care every day.

What an honour this morning to represent John Curtin College of the Arts parents as P&C President at the official opening of Mia Moorna.

Mia Moorna, meaning “House of Sound” in the Noongar language, is JCCA’s brand new, state-of-the-art home for music, media and creative learning. Walking through the space, it’s impossible not to feel excited about the opportunities it will give our students: from rehearsals and recordings, to collaborations, performances and creative projects that will inspire them for years to come.

The ceremony began with a Welcome to Country delivered by Whadjuk Noongar Elder and College alumnus, Freda Ogilvie. It was one of the most inspiring and warmest welcomes I have ever been privileged to hear.

It was wonderful to celebrate alongside staff, students and special guests including Hon. Sabine Winton MLA (Minister for Education), Hon. Simone McGurk MLA (Member for Fremantle and Minister for Creative Industries), Director General Jay Peckitt, and Mayor Hannah Fitzhardinge.

A huge thank you to everyone who worked so hard to bring this project to life. What a gift for our JCCA community!

For the past three years, Kylie has generously volunteered her time and expertise as a chiropractor at St Pat’s. It’s wonderful to see her invaluable contribution to both the community and the profession recognised by Australia’s peak body for evidence-based chiropractors. A truly well-deserved honour!

In celebration of National Volunteer Week,19-25 May, CA would like commend CA Member Dr Kylie Lovelock who volunteers at St Pat’s Fremantle.

Working at St Pat’s is a rewarding career opportunity as it supports people to live full and fulfilling lives. Every day spent working at St. Pat’s makes a difference.
