At dawn on the 25th April 1915, the first of approximately 70,000 soldiers from the Allied forces landed at Gallipoli, Turkey. Of these troops, 20,000 were Australian and New Zealand soldiers. It is estimated that over 11,400 ANZACs lost their life in this assault.

Today is a day of commemoration of the anniversary of the landing of ANZACs at Gallipoli.

Today is a day of commemoration of all Australians and New Zealanders who served and died in all wars and conflicts, and their contribution and suffering.

Today we speak of the 'Anzac tradition', meaning the ideals of courage, endurance and mateship that are still relevant to this day.

We will remember them

I'm sure we can all relate to this 🀣🀣

Psychology is the study of human behaviour, and as we gain more knowledge, we begin to understand others and ourselves better! Gaining insight into why people may be acting in certain ways can be the key to communicating positively and constructively in any social setting.πŸ’›

It's important to give your feelings some attention too! πŸ’›

Most of us tend to ignore our feelings, or try to rationalise them, in an attempt to avoid pain or discomfort. Emotions help us communicate with ourselves and others - suffering from angry outbursts or random sadness can be a sign that your body is telling you it needs a break! 🌼

The simple act of addressing your emotions (without judgement), and just feeling them can help regulate your emotions. Emotions come and go like waves, if we let them. 🌻

Therapy, while it may be difficult and confronting, is a great way to get better at recognising yourself! 🌼

Sometimes it's difficult to take a step back and examine ourselves and our behaviours. However, this is an important skill to have, as it will allow you to grow and change behaviour that needs to be addressed. 🌻

Your therapist can help you do this, by providing you with a different perspective, and the skills needed to step back and observe! πŸ’›πŸ’›

Recovery from a traumatic experience can look differently for everyone. 🌻

The deep hardened core of all our trauma, surrounded by a bunch of squishy goop, and held together by a thin barrier that can break easily. Sounds pretty familiar, right? πŸ’›

While it may be hard, working on the "pit", or the core of our trauma, with a therapist can be the path to healing. 🌼
