Business Closure Announcement

Hi All,

Just a quick courtesy email to let you know that as a result of continuing staff shortages we will be closing our doors at the end of the financial year.

It’s been a wonderful journey running this business through it’s ups and downs and this was not an easy decision to make however it is increasingly difficult to remain profitable with so few staff available to employ.

If you or anyone you know has an outstanding gift voucher please redeem it before the end of the financial year to avoid disappointment.

Just an Update that Our Service Fees are Changing

Short Version

We are increasing our pricing to give our therapists a significant pay rise and attract new talent. Plus we are doubling our tree planting donations.

Long Version:

If you run a business or know anyone that does, you have probably heard them talking about how hard it is for them to find qualified staff lately.

The pandemic has had an unprecedented effect on our economy. Due to the massive amount of stimulus and what appears to be so far a miraculous recovery demand for goods and services are sky rocketing.

However a large chunk of our workforce is missing. Yes, those international travellers on short work visas for example.

On top of this, many residents have used the pandemic to reprioritise their lives and thus have opted to change careers or retrain in a new field.

The result is that there are very few qualified remedial massage therapists for us to hire.

Most of the economists are saying that this labour shortage should lead to wage growth. It makes sense after all. If you are having trouble hiring then you need to increase the incentives and one of the main incentives for working is for the pay.

Wage growth in Australia has been very sluggish and well below target for a long time and I agree with the economists that is this is wrong. Wealth inequality has been getting worse and worse. It’s terrible to watch it happen in Australia. Working people deserve to be paid more.

As a small business, the only sustainable option for me to deliver a significant pay rise to my workers (and yes that includes me) is to pass that cost on to you the consumer of the service.

So, I am raising the service fees by around 10%, the bulk of which will go directly to the therapists.

Also, you may or may not be aware that for every massage you have with us, we donate $1 to the Trillion Trees Project.

We are now doubling this to $2 per massage. Which means together we will be planting twice as many trees. Which is great for the environment.

Our New Service Fees:

30 Minutes $65 (inc gst)
45 Minutes $87 (inc gst)
60 Minutes $109 (inc gst)
90 Minutes $153 (inc gst)

And our New Concession Fees (low income health care and pensioner concession cards only):

30 Minutes $59 (inc gst)
45 Minutes $79 (inc gst)
60 Minutes $99 (inc gst)
90 Minutes $139 (inc gst)

What if I already have a booking in the system?

If you already have a single booking in the system, then you will pay the old lower price for that booking.

What if I have multiple bookings in the system?

If you have multiple bookings in the system, you will pay the old lower price for your first booking (up coming) booking and then all future bookings after that will be changed to the new pricing.

What if I have a gift voucher for a massage on the old pricing?

If you have a gift voucher with the old pricing, we will continue to honour that pricing. All new gift voucher purchases will be at the new pricing level.
