When done correctly, there are substantial health benefits from the vegan diet.

However, vegan diets are high in lectins and lectins can prevent your gut from absorbing all of your nutrients.

Preventing nutrient deficiencies and being aware of the risks of consuming too many lectins, can help sustain a happy, healthy gut and higher energy levels!

At True Health Naturopathy, we do thorough blood test interpretation so that we can get a better understanding of your health. Fatigue is a common complaint that we hear. Holistic health is an approach to wellness that addresses your physical, mental, social, emotional and spiritual components of health. We seek to address the basics first, including nutrition, stress, sleep and movement. However, when it comes to fatigue, where you constantly feel lethargic, we sometimes have to dig a little deeper and investigate ares such as your thyroid. Regular, yearly blood tests can be really helpful to stay on top of your health. If you would like to chat further, send me a DM.

5 herbs to help balance your hormones:

1. Chasteberry supports symptoms related to PMS, infertility, acne, and much more. It is a great herb to balance female hormones. Chasteberry, also known as Vitex, works by decreasing levels of prolactin, which in return balances out estrogen and progesterone.
2. Dandelion root is high in plant estrogens and plays a powerful role in the detoxification of the liver, which detoxifies excess hormones in the body.
3. Ginger is an amazing herb to balance female hormones. Ginger has been used as a spice for its many medicinal properties. Ginger is an anti-inflammatory and is commonly used to treat nausea. Ginger reduces the production of prostaglandins, which reduces common symptoms associated with PMS such as cramps, mood swings, and headaches
4. Zizyphus is a favourite for menopausal symptoms. Zizyphus may assist in menopausal night sweats, anxiety and insommnia.
5. Paeonia is a beautiful herb that is indicated in PCOS, endometriosis and many symptoms of estrogen dominance. Paeonia is a herb that will support your ovaries and encourage progesterone production.

It is always advised to seek assistance from a Naturopath to identify the best combination of herbs for you and the correct dosage. If you need further support or want to know more about how we can help, send us a DM!
