It’s always exciting when we get new equipment to assist with patient care. Last week we received our Rexon-Eye device to expand and improve our dry eye clinic. The staff all received training to understand the technology. Rexon-Eye is a non-invasive in-office treatment for dry eye disease that uses QMR (Quantum Molecular Resonance) which produces low-power, high-frequency electric fields to stimulate cellular metabolism, reduce inflammation, and improve tear stability. Studies show it reduces inflammation and improves symptoms with long-term effects (up to 18 months), offering a comfortable, warm, and relaxing experience.

6 years ago! The start of the OptimEyes journey!
Thank you to all the patients, friends and family who have supported me along the way. To my staff Sue, Matt, Nicky, Nicole and Carola...I couldn't do it without you. To the wonderful staff who helped me grow but are not longer part of the team....thank you too! Micheal, Deb, Kara and Annie!
And last but not least Sean, you have been my rock, support, handyman, IT guy and so much more! Thank you thank you Thank you!!!

Contact lens Rockstar…. Miss E!
This week 8 yr Miss E came in for a contact lens trial. She adjusted really well to me inserting the lenses. I proceeded to start doing a teach with her, thinking we would need another appointment to complete the process. Within minutes she had masterered inserting and removing the lenses several times! Absolutely smashed it! I’ll see her later this week to finalise her contact lens prescription! Go E!!!

A few weeks ago our little miss CR completed her vision therapy programme. She has made wonderful progress across all areas of visual processing and function. Her oculomotor skills , rapid automatic naming and sight grabbing skills have all more than doubled in accuracy.
This was her parting gift to us.. a beautiful design which she drew in a mirror pattern. To do this she needed to use both hands simultaneously whilst looking ahead and engaging her peripheral vision. Miss C you are on fire.

Great news for Visual Snow Syndrome (VSS) sufferers. The condition has now been recognised by the World Health Organisation. This will mean that more patients will receive recognition for an often misunderstood and poorly managed condition. Steve Gillis spent months trying to find answers to the "constant companions" of tinnitus, brain fog and visual disturbances that followed him after he had recovered from a virus. Now there are hopes others with visual snow syndrome will face an easier path to diagnosis.

Yesterday our lovely patient PH came to collect her glasses which she will be using when working at her computer. The Rodenstock lenses have a specialised medical tint to reduce her symptoms which cause visual discomfort. PH wore a fabulous t shirt which we had to share! Thank you for thinking about this PH…. Love the connection.

Our lovely patient MW has just completed 30 weeks of Vision Therapy. He has made wonderful gains in his visual function. His clarity of vision and Stereo vision especially have improved significantly, in addition to other visual skills. Look at the amazing eye he painted for our therapist Deb who has helped him on his journey. Keep up the good work MW.
