Dr Abi was one of the first at Northern Beaches Hospital to offer Maternal Assisted Caesareans. This allows you to help birth your baby and have immediate skin-to-skin, keeping you and your baby connected from the earliest moment possible.

It’s about making your caesarean a very special moment.

Meet Gen!

Gen is our warm and friendly Receptionist and Admin Support - one of the most important members of our Forest Women’s family. She is an absolute favourite with our patients!

Gen brings not just competence, but genuine empathy, shaped by her own experiences with fertility and women’s health. She knows what it’s like to navigate the challenges our patients face, and her kindness shines in every interaction.

When she’s not helping women feel seen and supported, she’s a busy Northern Beaches mum to three lively kids, loving life with her beagle Leo, exploring nature, camping, creating art, tinkering, and hitting the slopes whenever she can!

Are you pregnant and looking for a book to flick through?

We have a few favourite books:

'Up the Duff" by Kaz Cooke is filled with humour, excellent up to date research-based information and is a wonderful, user friendly read.

We also recommend 'The Complete Australian Guide to Pregnancy and Birth', a practical, evidence-based resource to help you feel informed and confident as you prepare for birth.

There are copies in our waiting room for you to take a look at.

Midwife Alice is a special part of your pregnancy care.

Alice has been a Midwife for over 30 years. (She is also a Registered Nurse and holds a certificate in Sexual Health).

Alice brings a wealth of knowledge and genuine care and compassion in supporting women with their individual needs throughout pregnancy. Supporting women to maintain good mental health through pregnancy and beyond is her passion. Our women love her warmth, humour and knowledge - she is there at each visit and always available for advice and support.

Alice and Dr Abi work together closely to provide holistic and collaborative care to all women.

A-DEN-OH-MY-O-SIS.

It can be a tricky word when you first see it.

While there has been much talk of endo, adenomyosis can be equally concerning to many women.

It can cause severe menstrual pain and heavy periods and it's not something that you should consider as just what women need to put up with. There are many options Dr Abi can discuss with you to help manage adenomyosis. Ask your GP for a referral and call our team to make an appointment.
