October is Dyslexia Awareness Month

Dyslexia is a common learning difference that affects how people read, spell and process.

Dyslexia does not reflect a person’s intelligence or potential. With the right supports, early intervention and evidence-based strategies, children with Dyslexia can thrive in school and beyond.

🔎 Early signs may include difficulties with:
✔️ Learning letters and sounds
✔️ Sounding out unfamiliar words
✔️ Spelling consistently
✔️ Reading fluently

If you have concerns about your child’s literacy development, please reach out to our experienced Speech Pathologist; Allicia.

Let’s help by sharing the message this October to build a world where children with Dyslexia are understood, supported and empowered

🤍 Celebrating the woman behind the name 🤍

Judith Yeaman

Growing up my Grandmother referred to myself, sisters and cousins as “Kidlets”. In naming my practice, I couldn’t look past this term of endearment as a way of honouring her and the profound impact she had on my life.

Thank you to our families who have been extremely supportive over the last week and half and who have been so understanding of the need to change appointments around.

Pictured here, many moons ago in one of my favourite photos, we are reading a clinic favourite “We’re going on a Bear Hunt”! What a fabulous story!

Thank you Gran for everything! Your legacy lives on in helping little lives flourish. 🥰

New programs alert!

Allicia is excited to be supporting social skills through the delivery of two Neuroaffirming social skills programs in Term 3: SEA Bridges (for ages 5-9) and Social Stencil (for ages 10-12).

Both programs are co-designed with Neurodiverse individuals and evidence-based. They are fun and engaging sessions providing opportunity to practise skills with peers in a supported environment.

In the instances of managing group dynamics and ensuring that children are placed in the best program to meet their needs, all participants will need to attend a pre-group assessment with Allicia.

Costs per session will vary depending on the number of enrolled participants.

Contact now to book your child in and for more information.
