Mike and Jan departed Karratha this morning on a training flight to Alice Springs. The aim was to get Mike current on 3D approaches (ILS) post-IPC.
It was an awesome day with very good weather for flying today.

Our Citatation 560 Ultra, along with a KingAir 350 and a Sikorsky S-92A on the ground at Learmonth Airport.
Our Flight Crew waited on the ground for around 3 hours while the Medical Crew flew on a helicopter to retrieve a patient from a rig.
The flight then returned to Karratha with the patient

The crew got together this evening for a delicious home made Thai Rad Curry (cooked by Mitch) and an ice-cream cake to celebrate Jan’s Birthday.
According to our sources (Jan himself) he turned 21 (again) on Monday 18th 😂

Our medevac mission was completed in Karratha (after a patient retrieval in Onslow) this morning before the sunrise.
A huge thank you to the crew (Jan, Justin, Grant, Norm) who despite being woken up at 3:30am, completed the job professionally and effectively. As usual the team work between the crew played an important part in today’s mission.
Hope you all managed to get some sleep when you returned back to your apartment.
