Good morning,
I would like to share details of an upcoming Wellness Program for 2026, focused on promoting health and wellbeing within our community. We are fortunate to have a qualified personal trainer facilitating the sessions, and we have worked hard to ensure the program remains affordable and accessible for all. AAB support workers will also be available to provide assistance during sessions and transport, where needed.
Importantly, we have included a dedicated class specifically for unpaid carers. As someone who is also an unpaid carer, this inclusion holds deep personal significance to me. Carers are so often the forgotten members of our community, despite the immense emotional and physical toll they carry. The statistics around carers’ health are concerning, and it is vital that they, too, have a space to focus on their own wellbeing.

We’re incredibly proud to be part of a community that cares, and that means stepping up, speaking out, and supporting those who often go unheard.

Our very own Ashley Hinkins, who is also an unpaid carer herself, recently attended a morning tea for unpaid carers hosted by the Toowoomba Mayor. It was a powerful opportunity to highlight the vital work unpaid carers do every day, often without recognition, all while saving our government countless resources.

Ashley also shared some exciting new programs we’re planning to roll out, focused on supporting our most vulnerable community members and the amazing people who care for them.
