If you’ve been to see me in clinic there’s a fair chance I’ve babbled on about breakfast!

It can be a really simple tweak to your diet that enhances the rest of your day (especially if it’s a savoury breakfast!)

Improved satiety ✔️Increased energy (all day) ✔️ Better blood sugar regulation ✔️ just to name a few benefits.

These random veg plates are usually in high rotation at my house. A quick and easy one pan meal plus you get a couple of serves of veg before the day has even kicked off, some protein and some healthy fats & gut loving fermented foods.

Suss out what’s in your crisper (broccoli/broccolini, sweet potato, pumpkin, zucchini, tomato, spinach all work well) sauté/lightly steam in some butter or olive oil, salt & pepper (+ mixed dried herbs, garlic & onion powder if you like) to taste, throw in a couple of eggs, a sprinkle of feta and tablespoon or 2 of sauerkraut.

The New Year is well and truely underway and with that is often a host of resolutions.

This is your gentle reminder that if you've chosen the new year to kick off some health goals its important to aim for consistency not perfection. A "bad" day or "cheat meal" doesn't mean failure... just that you're human.

Are you getting enough fibre?

Chances are... possibly not, thanks to the highly refined SAD (Standard Australian Diet).

This could be negatively effecting the beneficial bacteria in your gut and contributing to some of those uncomfortable symptoms you're experiencing.

Some simple swaps like including wholegrains rather than refined (white) grains and making sure you're eating plenty of fruits and veg everyday can really make a big difference.
