Headaches are a common complaint that affect people of all ages and can occur due to a variety of reasons. They can be mild or severe, last for a few minutes or several days, and can occur on one or both sides of the head. There are many types of headaches, each with its own causes, symptoms, and treatment options. Our practice sees many people suffering with headache symptoms and we understand how much headaches can interfere with your every day life. We are here to provide you with a better understanding of what is going on with your body that is causing the headache symptoms and what you can do to manage and get rid of your headaches when possible.

Activator Instrument Adjusting is considered a gentle and effective method used by Chiropractors around the spine and extremities. Many patients have never seen the Activator before they first come to our clinic but are gladly surprised at the results it can support.

It is one of the approaches used by our chiropractors to individualise care for each patient. It can be used along with manual techniques or with gentle low force techniques depending on what is clinically needed and what you as the patient request.

The Activator instrument is used by Chiropractors to manage a variety of issues, and since each person & case is different, the best way to find out if it will help you is to speak with us.

At Geebung Family Chiropractic, our Chiropractors are all trained and experienced in the use of the Activator instrument as part of their clinical toolkit so you get the best chiropractic results. Other techniques used include manual adjustments, SOT, Kinesiology and Cranial Techniques.

Dr Cheyne Thompson - Geebung Family Chiropractic

Dr Cheyne joins Geebung Family Chiropractic after years of providing chiropractic care to the Clayfield community. Dr Cheyne is available at our practice at North Brisbane on Fridays.

She graduated from Sydney College of Chiropractic (now part of Macquarie University in Sydney) with Doctor of Chiropractic and Doctor of Osteopathy degrees. She then practiced in Riverstone, NSW for 7 years. After moving to Brisbane in 1991, she had a practice in Arana Hills and Paddington before working at Clayfield. She worked here for over 30 years and completed her Master of Chiropractic Science (Paediatrics) through RMIT University 25 years ago.

Cheyne is a registered Medicare Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) and Department of Veteran’s Affairs provider. She accepts Private Health Fund and private patients.

The techniques that Cheyne uses are primarily low force techniques that are suitable for all ages and members of your family. She uses SOT, TBM, NET, AK, Activator and Diversified techniques. She also treats limb joint complaints such as strains and sprains, and uses Trigger Point and soft tissue releases, prescribes exercises and offers nutritional advice as part of individualised approaches for each person. She uses Low Level Laser where indicated to enhance healing.
