I feel really honoured and grateful to witness and be let into couples’ relationships.

Julie Yeo is an exceptional couples counsellor. Her approach is thoughtful, practical, and deeply respectful, creating a safe space for open and honest conversations. Couples counselling with Julie feels less like “fixing problems” and more like a health check for your relationship — something every couple should do, not just when things are hard. You walk away with better communication, deeper understanding, and tools to use long term. Highly recommend Julie to any couple wanting to strengthen their relationship.

So often, what comes out as anger, frustration or hostility is really a deeper longing for closeness. When we can be brave enough to share the softer feelings underneath, it can bring our partner closer in the most powerful ways ❤️

I will often invite my clients to explore “micro-moments” or connection, small, gentle pauses woven into everyday life. Our brains love patterns, so we look at ways to anchor these moments into things you already do, like making a cuppa, brushing your teeth or waiting at the traffic lights. In these simple pauses, hand on heart, a slow breath, your nervous system receives a powerful message: you are safe, all is calm, and everything is ok ❤️

There is a lot of misunderstanding around the “let them” theory. It’s not about letting people walk all over you. Its about the “let me”
Let them do what they choose
Let me choose my response
Let me hold my boundaries
Let me protect my energy
Radical acceptance isn’t about giving up, it’s about stopping the Internal fight over what we can’t control and reclaiming power over what we can 🙌🫶👊

It is such a privilege to be able to walk alongside the wonderful humans that I do, and to witness their incredible growth ❤️

Jule is an incredible family therapist. My husband and I sought her services to help us communicate better. The transformation in our relationship has been profound. Julie helped us move from a conflict mindset to a collaborative mindset. We now seek to understand each other’s perspectives and can see how our past experiences in life contribute to the way we act/react/perceive. She has taught us the beauty of ensuring we repair after a conflict. She has imparted so much wisdom on us and taught us the skills to be excellent communicators with one another. Life is so much more peaceful after doing the work with Julie! Could not recommend her more highly! Julie in herself is also very supportive and approachable making you feel at ease straight away.

With age, maturity, and transitions like peri/menopause, we are invited to know ourselves more honestly. After years of putting others first, it can be difficult to turn inwards, and it isn’t always comfortable. So how do we know ourselves? By paying attention to what we feel, what we need, and what no longer fits. This season isn’t a loss, it’s a return to who you are ❤️

These small, present moment pauses - just seconds long- are powerful. They offer your nervous system a quiet signal of safety and connection. Nothing to fix, nothing to push through, just noticing and returning ❤️

As a therapist, I know how difficult this can be. Our nervous systems learn how to adapt in childhood, shaped by how the adults around us handled difference, conflict and emotional safety. Many of us learning these skills as adults. In a polarised world, even the small moments of curiosity, listening, and care can make a meaningful difference ❤️

Feeling grateful for some kind words from a client:

'Julie is excellent to work with. She really makes a good connection with her clients. She is a good listener, and get's straight to the point while at the same time explaining things in a logical way. Highly recommend her services'

“We judge ourselves by our intentions and others by their behaviour.” Stephen M. R. Covey

A client shared this with me in session and it really stopped me in my tracks. As a family therapist, I see this play out all the time, people deeply hurt by someone else’s behaviour, while also realising their own actions didn’t reflect what they intended.

When we slow down, name the hurt, and get curious about intent, something shifts. With a little space, people often begin to see more than one truth.

A reminder of the complex thinking relationships ask of us, and the importance of not getting stuck in the emotional story ❤️

Many of my clients have shared that this is their intention for 2026. All of them have been women too 🤔
