Yoga 4 Living

Yoga 4 Living Welcome, I’m Monica. I offer authentic, heart-centred practices, incl. Oncology Yoga (yoga4cancer), Hatha, Meditation, Sacred Shakti, Gentle, Yin & Yoga Nidra.

I started yoga to manage my stress levels in the late 90s, I have practised here in Australia as well as overseas, following my cancer diagnosis in 2017 I sought a holistic authentic yoga teacher but found most classes were very exercises like. So decided to become the teacher I was looking for. I’m a cancer survivor who loves to teach holistically from my heart, guiding you step-by-step through nurturing tailored asana (postures), pranayama (breathwork) mudras (hand seals), meditation, yoga nidra and spiritual yogic philosophy and more, while weaving in related scientific research demonstrating the enormous benefits of yoga if you are, or have been, going through cancer treatment (applicable to Yoga4Cancer). After your class I can almost guarantee you leave feeling more relaxed embodying that Yoga Bliss. These classes along with Gentle Yoga, Hatha, Yin, Slow Flows and Shakti* inspired Hatha Yoga are offered in small groups, online as well as one-on-one (packages available). I'm a certified yoga4cancer (Oncology yoga) teacher, who successfully manage my own long term side effects caused by cancer and its treatment. "Cancer takes your breath away, Yoga gives it back" - Tari Prinster Founder and Director of Y4C

I have also experienced fifteen years of working in Senior Management, and know all too well how stressful our lives can become, plus have the experience of how beautiful it is to support others on their life journey whether through yoga and/or in life or in a working environment.

This is not about perfect poses 🤍
I’m Monica.

Through travel, freedom, and time in India, I share yoga and meditation as a way of living — grounded, embodied, and real.

As a cancer survivor and experienced mentor, I offer heart-centred spaces to reconnect with your body and inner wisdom.

A return to yourself — just as you are.

I’ll be returning to Australia soon — if you feel called to practise together, I’d love to welcome you. ✨

🔱🙏Om Namah Shivaya 🕉️
Barefoot upon ancient stone, I walk into Shiva’s cave temple — where silence speaks and the unseen is felt.
Here, devotion becomes embodied… breath, body, and spirit woven as one.
A gentle remembering of who we are beneath it all.

🌹 Nine years ago my life changed forever with an aggressive cancer diagnosis.

🇮🇳 This year I find myself in India for the Ninth time.

🕉️ In the sacred traditions here — and in many cultures — the number Nine is considered deeply auspicious and symbolic of transformation and completion.

🔻🌺During Navaratri, the nine nights honour Durga and the Nava-Durgas — nine expressions of the Divine Mother. Each form represents the power to overcome inner obstacles and transform qualities such as fear, anxiety, anger, and spiritual ignorance. Together they symbolise a journey of purification, transformation, and self-realisation.

🔱 Here at Bhadra Kali Temple, I’m reminded of Bhadrakali — the fierce and protective Mother who brings both chaos and transformation so that new life can emerge.

🌺Cancer, Yoga, and Ta**ra remind us that the deepest journeys are the ones within. 🌿

🕉️Yoga is not something I simply teach — it is a path I continue to live, explore, and grow within.
🇮🇳Time in India always reminds me that yoga is a living tradition, woven through daily life, community, ritual, and quiet moments of reflection. Being here nourishes my own practice and deepens my understanding.

🧘‍♀️I remain a lifelong student of this path — always learning, listening, and allowing the wisdom of the practice to unfold.
🌺🔱🔻Bhadra Kali is a fierce and compassionate form of the Divine Mother who represents protection and the transformative power that helps dissolve what no longer serves so new life can emerge.
What I share in my classes and circles grows from this lived experience.
🙏Embodied yoga and meditation woven through life, practice, and the quiet wisdom of the path.

♥️May we all have the courage to grow, transform, and walk our path with an open heart. 🌿

Why India 🇮🇳 again they ask!!
My love for travel began with backpacking in my late teens, and it continues to shape the way I explore the world today; Mother India—the birthplace of ancient wisdom, spiritual traditions, and countless yoga lineages. India has profoundly shaped my life, particularly during the year I spent there, spread across the late 80s and early 90s. It was a formative period that nurtured my growth, solidified my beliefs, and instilled a deep sense of gratitude on so many levels feels a bit like coming home. Bharat Mata ♥️🇮🇳

The phrase ‘to meditate’ does not simply mean to examine, observe, reflect, question, weigh; it also has, in Sanskrit, a more profound meaning, which is ‘to become’.

Read this to the end...you may get goosebumps... Inspiration flows, ideas pop up, from nowhere… No it is She … when words flow like music from our lips, it is Her… Not separated, yes it is you but also Her. Is it really that important to make it about You, Ahamkara (the “I”)? “I did this” me… me .. .me… of course She lets you… to a point.
🕉Ever experienced that emotion of absolute abundance, sweetness, joy, bliss, like you do not need anything else … moment … stillness. Feeling grateful to experience this… life…
🔱Felt that instantaneous Courage? Like a flash you step forward or speak up or take the jump…. It is Her.. yes it is Her. She is You too. Courage, comes from Coeur in French, meaning Heart.
🌺❤In Hridaya, your spiritual heart you can find, connect and listen to Her. The Divine Mother, Mother Earth, Goddess, Gaia, Devi, Shakti, Bhumi, Saraswati, Matangi, Bhuvaneshwari, Tara, Durga, Kali, Lakshmi, Padma… like a loved child She has soooo many names, so many divine energies; the Loving Fearless Courageous One…Mother. She is Everything, the Absolute, the primordial.
🕉Meditate in your Heart, Hridaya, expansiveness, light, a hum, beyond what the mind can comprehend, so Listen with your Heart. She is Your Intuitive voice. She is You. You are never alone. Feeling sad. She embraces and holds you.
After I let the above pour out... I pick this Oracle card, No 13 Eostre, She looks like Saint Lucia with Her Crown. Today 13 December is the day we celebrate St Lucia in Sweden. She brings light in the darkest days of winter. St Lucia was a 4th century Christian Saint. Eostre also reminds me of other special Devis with beautiful crowns. Jai Mā

🌙 Presence & Embodiment — Pañca Vāyus
💜 In class we explore movement not just through muscle and mind, but through the currents of the five vāyus — the “winds” of our subtle body.
We ground through Apāna (earthy, downward energy), lift through Prāṇa and Udāna (heart, breath, and upward expansion), ignite our centre with Samana, and feel Vyāna coordinating the whole body.
These energies help us shift from effort to embodied awareness — connecting with the subtle layers beyond the physical.

💜 Join me in practice and experience how this feels in your body, heart, and spirit — a gentle return to centre and oneness.
