'On 29 August 2025, ‘Wear It Purple Day’ will unite LGBTQIA+SB young people and allies to shine a glorious light on the thousands of schools, community organisations, universities, and workplaces that are coming together to create a more inclusive future
for people across Australia.

For 15 years, people in Australia have been wearing purple to demonstrate to LGBQTIA+SB young people that they are celebrated and respected, acknowledging all have the right to be proud of who they are and who they are becoming.

Originally founded by students in response to global stories of teenagers taking their own lives due to bullying and harassment, Wear it Purple Day has become an international movement of love and support that grows every year.

This year’s theme is "Bold Voices, Bright Futures", with artwork by Lee Evatt (He/Them), winner of Wear It Purple’s Youth Action Council (YAC) Design Competition to create a campaign message and artwork in celebration of LGBTQIA+SB people openly and visibly achieving their dreams in sport, art, science and more!'

🎉 Ta daaa! It’s finished! And the finished product is amazing.

🎗️ Do you remember the community at project we started in April?

A little refresher:

🧑‍🎨 As a celebration of Autism Awareness Month, we invited patrons to make their mark on a canvas and share something that makes them unique.

🎨 Then, a local artistic autist added the finishing touches. The results are bright and colourful. Each contributor’s point of difference is recognised.

❤️ What a result! We love it.

💐 We give a heartfelt ‘Thank you’ to all who were able to take part in this community artwork.

Happy Autism Month!

Some celebrate ‘Awareness’. Others celebrate ‘Acceptance’. And others celebrate ‘Understanding’.

Today, we are celebrating by lifting others.

Chloe Hayden is a local legend who advocates for Autistic individuals through speaking, writing, acting, fashion, and more. Her lived experience as an ‘actually autistic’ person lends well toward authenticity in her activism.

Woot Woot! We are celebrating a few wins this week with our amazing MyKind community members.

⭐️ One of our young community members has learned to ride a bike WITHOUT training wheels. Incredible. Well done to our young friend!

⭐️ One of our visitors shared her creativity with us by making a very fashionable character on our white board. Check out the sun, moon, Mars, Venus, and other planetary bodies represented. Very cool!

⭐️ A few young people in our community have recently shifted schools, completed orientations, and participated in capacity building school readiness programs.

🎉 Shout out to the families and local therapeutic providers who make these achievements possible.

👍 Please 'LIKE' and comment to cheer for our community members.
