"Look for the helpers."

As we reflect on weeks passed, we recognise tragic events and heroic moments- both making their mark on the lives of individuals, communities, and the nation.

Thank you to the heroes of the Bondi Beach Attack- the mothers and fathers who protected loved ones, the many individuals who intervened to deter attackers, to those who passed away in pursuit of peace, and to the survivors who carry invisible wounds.

We have the right to safety.
We have the right to expression.
One's expression must not affect another's safety.

Thank you to the NSW government for offering comprehensive support for victims, survivors, extended family, and broader communities in relation to this event.

The Social Media Ban is coming...

From 10 December 2025, many social-media sites in Australia must stop people under 16 from having accounts.

That means, if you’re under 16, you won’t be allowed to sign up or stay signed in to some social platforms.

Social media companies are being called upon to increase protections for tweens and teens. Companies unable to block or remove under-16 accounts may face large fines (about AU$49.5 million).

Supporters say the ban helps protect kids from online harm and stress.

We have an opportunity to encourage safer social connections for tweens and teens through apps deemed to be safer by the eSafety Commissioner.

What do you think about the upcoming social media restrictions?

'On 29 August 2025, ‘Wear It Purple Day’ will unite LGBTQIA+SB young people and allies to shine a glorious light on the thousands of schools, community organisations, universities, and workplaces that are coming together to create a more inclusive future
for people across Australia.

For 15 years, people in Australia have been wearing purple to demonstrate to LGBQTIA+SB young people that they are celebrated and respected, acknowledging all have the right to be proud of who they are and who they are becoming.

Originally founded by students in response to global stories of teenagers taking their own lives due to bullying and harassment, Wear it Purple Day has become an international movement of love and support that grows every year.

This year’s theme is "Bold Voices, Bright Futures", with artwork by Lee Evatt (He/Them), winner of Wear It Purple’s Youth Action Council (YAC) Design Competition to create a campaign message and artwork in celebration of LGBTQIA+SB people openly and visibly achieving their dreams in sport, art, science and more!'

🎉 Ta daaa! It’s finished! And the finished product is amazing.

🎗️ Do you remember the community at project we started in April?

A little refresher:

🧑‍🎨 As a celebration of Autism Awareness Month, we invited patrons to make their mark on a canvas and share something that makes them unique.

🎨 Then, a local artistic autist added the finishing touches. The results are bright and colourful. Each contributor’s point of difference is recognised.

❤️ What a result! We love it.

💐 We give a heartfelt ‘Thank you’ to all who were able to take part in this community artwork.
