Lucy specialises in play-based learning & trauma-informed care, tailoring her approach to each person’s unique needs. She believes strong relationships are the heart of positive outcomes.

Outside work, you’ll find her shopping for the perfect outfit, managing her local netball team, or spending weekends with friends & family. 💛

David (Dave)! 🌟

We’re excited to welcome Dave, a highly experienced Occupational Therapist, to the Function Focus Allied Health team!

With over 30 years of experience in paediatrics and disability, Dave has worked across Special Development Schools, Early Intervention Services, private practice, and specialist settings both in Australia and England. He’s passionate about supporting children, adults and their families to reach their goals, build on their strengths, and develop the skills they need to live happy, confident lives.

Dave believes that learning thrives in fun, safe and supportive environments, and values collaborative, trusting relationships as the foundation for positive outcomes.

Outside of work, Dave enjoys a busy home life with his wife and four children. He’s a passionate basketball coach and player, a loyal St Kilda supporter, and loves camping, travel, and spending time with his dogs, family and friends.

👉 David currently has capacity for ongoing clients, however spots are filling fast, so get in touch if you’re interested in working with him!

Jed enjoying a well-earned sensory break after an incredible three days of learning!
We’re leaving Adelaide feeling inspired and ready to bring back some valuable insights and resources into our daily practice.

With so much uncertainty surrounding the NDIS and the proposed changes, it’s understandable that many are feeling vulnerable and concerned — and rightly so.

But in times of challenge, there’s always opportunity. Opportunity to connect, support one another, and face what comes next as a stronger, united community.

We’re looking forward to three full days of learning, connecting, and upskilling alongside other passionate occupational therapy professionals.

Get to know our new Occupational Therapist - Dave

David is an Occupational Therapist who enjoys working with children, adults and their families to ensure they reach their full potential, build on their strengths and provide them with skills to live a happy and positive life. David has over 30 years of experience working in paediatrics and disability in a variety of settings including Special Development Schools, Early Intervention Services, private practice and various specialist settings in both Australia and England. He believes that everyone should be given the opportunity to reach any goal they wish to strive for, and that learning happens best when in a fun, safe and supportive environment. David believes building a strong and trusting relationship with those he works with and their families greatly enhances positive outcomes. He likes to work collaboratively with the people he works with to reach these goals.
David leads a busy life at home with his wife and four children. He is actively involved in coaching basketball, and playing when he gets the chance. He is an avid St Kilda fan, and loves travel, camping, caring for his dogs and spending time with friends and family.

Function Focus Allied Health pause to honour the courage, sacrifice, and resilience of those who have served, and continue to serve, our country.

On ANZAC Day, we remember the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps and reflect on the values they stood for mateship, courage, endurance, and sacrifice.

We acknowledge the significance of this day and express our deepest gratitude to all veterans, current service members, and their families. Your strength and dedication are never forgotten.

Autism isn’t something to “fix” or change; it’s a unique way of seeing and experiencing the world. Let’s continue to learn, listen, and create spaces where autistic individuals feel understood, valued, and supported.

🌟 Building Strong Foundations: Occupational Therapy for Kids – April School Holidays Program! 🌟

This April, keep your little ones engaged and learning with our 3-day occupational therapy program for primary school children! Designed to develop essential skills through play and teamwork, this program is perfect for the school holidays! 🎉

✅ Gross Motor Skills:
From jumping and balancing to obstacle courses, we help children improve their coordination, strength, and body awareness through exciting physical activities. 🏃‍♂️💪

✅ Fine Motor Skills:
Kids will fine-tune their hand-eye coordination and dexterity with crafts, puzzles, and other hands-on activities that encourage precision and focus. ✂️🎨

✅ Social Skills:
Through group games and interactive activities, children will develop communication, empathy, and problem-solving skills—learning how to connect and collaborate with others. 🤝💬

✅ Teamwork:
Working together is key! We’ll boost teamwork and cooperation as kids tackle group challenges, relay races, and team-building exercises. 💫👯
