Planning an overseas trip? Your health is just as important as your itinerary.

Before you go, it’s a good idea to book a travel consultation with your GP at least 6 to 8 weeks before departure. This gives you time to discuss your destination, receive any recommended vaccinations, and get tailored advice on staying well while you’re away.

Caring for your mental health is just as important as looking after your physical wellbeing.

At Kardinia Health, our GPs and psychologists work together to provide connected care, because your mental health journey shouldn’t happen in isolation. It often begins with a GP consultation, where you can be supported to access a Mental Health Treatment Plan and be referred to the right psychologist for your needs.

We’re proud to introduce Susan, one of our experienced Clinical Psychologists, who brings over 20 years of expertise to our team. Susan works primarily with older teens and adults, offering evidence-based support for depression, anxiety, trauma, phobias, OCD, and more. She is also trained in EMDR and Schema Therapy.

With your consent, Susan and your GP can collaborate closely to ensure your care remains consistent and focused on your overall wellbeing.

Nutrition can play an important role in managing endometriosis and persistent pelvic pain.

As part of our Pelvic Pain and Endometriosis Clinic, we offer care that recognises dietary changes may help reduce pain and fatigue, ease gut symptoms, and support you in feeling more connected to your body. While nutrition is not a cure, it can be a valuable tool alongside other treatment.

For Kardinia Health patients, our dietitian Nadia Maxwell will be hosting an online group session, Nutrition for Endometriosis and Pelvic Pain, on Thursday 7 August at 7 pm. This session will explore the connection between diet, pain and digestive symptoms, and provide practical strategies to support your wellbeing.

What is Endometriosis?

Endometriosis is a chronic, inflammatory condition where cells similar to those that line the uterus are found outside the uterus (most commonly in the pelvis)

It’s a known contributor to persistent pelvic pain, but it’s often just one part of a bigger picture. Not everyone with endometriosis experiences ongoing pain, and not everyone with persistent pain has endometriosis, which is why individualised care matters.

At Kardinia Health’s Endometriosis and Pelvic Pain Clinic, we take a multidisciplinary and holistic approach to support your care journey with compassion and expertise.
