Self-care Fri-YAY!!

How did everyone find their walks last week? Did you decide to give it a try? Have you noticed any differences?

Well, this week we want to stick with the topic of routine and goals. Having a set of tasks and activities that you plan to complete assists in making life predictable and in turn further assists to relieve stress. In setting goals, they should be S.M.A.R.T (specific; measurable; achievable; realistic and timely). By implementing routine and SMART goals into your life, you're probably onto a winner.

Self-care Fri-YAY!!

Over the last couple of weeks, we've addressed sleep and our habits of it. So, this week we want to change it up and discuss 'get-up and get out!'. You see, literally getting up and getting out (and facing the sunshine) has a heap of benefits - sleep regulation, routine creation, fresh-air, sunshine (who doesn't love sunshine?!). Anyway, maybe use the audio function on your phone to listen to this article on your walk this morning.

Have the best Fri-yay,

Dayle

Do you struggle to wake up in the morning? Me, too. I used to struggle so badly that I’d press the snooze button until I had 15 minutes to be to work; just enough time to shower, dress, and rush out the door. Today, I get up two hours before I need to work (and

Mental Health Monday

Whilst prioritising and looking after yourself is paramount, it's also a journey.

One of the best things you can do for not only you, but those around you, is to take it slow, and one day at a time. To reach our common goal, of a better, healthier world, we have to understand that no matter how big or small, every step forward is a victory.

This week, I challenge you to share your victories with the people you're comfortable with - I bet even you'll be astonished with how far you've come.

I hope you have the best week, and celebrate that win.

Self-care Fri-YAY is upon us...

This week, we don't want you to check-in, but instead, check-out!

Rolling on from last-week's post about the importance of a good night sleep (go check it out (and leave a like)), it's just as important to consider screen time. Research has shown that you should put your phone to bed and 'check-out' at least one hour before you go to bed. In the attached article, Dr Singh discusses good sleep and screen hygiene. Go check it out, unless of course you're going to bed within the next hour...

It’s hard to avoid technology, with TVs, tablets, computers and mobile phones playing such a big part of our everyday lives—especially during quarantine.

Feeling down is sometimes a part of life. These feelings normally pass on their own. If however, you notice that these feelings have lasted longer than two weeks, it could be a sign of depression.

With the right support, depression can be managed, and being aware of even just some of the symptoms can help you, or help you help someone else.

Have a read about the impacts, difficulties and how to apply support to someone who may have depression:

Welcome to self-care Friday!!

From this week on, every week we're going to share a self-care tip of the week. To kick things off, we're starting with....

GOING TO BED EARLY.

Getting a full, and good night sleep is so important, for many things - mood, functioning and tolerance just to name a few. Whilst there is no exact number, the most optimal amount of sleep for adults between the ages of 18-64 is seven to nine hours of nightly sleep.

Challenge yourself to get at least two good nights sleep this week, you'll thank yourself for it later.

How many hours of sleep you should get varies by person and age, but most people need between seven and nine hours each night.

🎥🤳🎙️ SCHEDULED LIVE STREAM 🎥🤳🎙️

On Saturday (15:30 AEST), we plan to go live with DadKitchen and Strong Dads to discuss all things mental health, lads, dads and laughs.

I personally know Jim from DadKitchen, and the work he does over there to normalise discussions surrounding mental health in our homes is outstanding - it just so happens his food is pretty extraordinary too!

Whilst I don’t personally know Simon from Strong Dads, I do know his message of building resilience and empowering fathers is absolutely a stance I can and will get behind.

It’d be our absolute pleasure for you to join us whilst we steam, and to join in the conversations had too!

We look forward to seeing you Saturday!

P.S - Keep an eye out for the event to be shared and more stream related posts this week!

Dayle 😊
