✨ This Is Why We Do What We Do ✨

500 classes.

Not for a reward.
Not for a milestone.
But because something about showing up, again and again, changes you.

This week, Jo hit her 500th class at Wonder — and we got to celebrate her in a small way (hoodie included 🤎). But the real story isn’t the number.

It’s what sits behind it.

🧡 The days you didn’t feel like coming, but did
🧡 The quiet moments of calm after a busy day
🧡 The strength built over time
🧡 The sense of balance that starts to spill into everything else

“Coming to classes at Wonder has, and continues to be, one of my most favourite things to do… I really can’t express how much joy your space brings me and how balanced my life feels from attending.”

This is why we do what we do.

Not just to teach classes —
but to create a space where people feel better in their bodies, clearer in their minds, and more connected to themselves and each other.

The hoodie is just the cherry on top.

🍃 The Wobble Is the Work 🍃

If you’ve ever stood in a balancing posture — foot shaking, ankle working overtime, mind quietly panicking — you’ll know… the wobble is real.

But here’s the thing.

Step outside on a windy day and look at the trees.
They’re not rigid. They don’t grip. They move.

They bend, sway, adjust — and that’s exactly what keeps them standing.

Balance in yoga isn’t about being perfectly still.
It’s about learning the difference between focus and grip.

✨ Focus is steady, aware, responsive
✨ Grip is tight, controlling, and exhausting

When we grip, we fall faster.
When we soften just enough, we find something much more powerful — adaptability.

On the mat, that might look like a wobbly tree pose.
In life, it might look like navigating change, uncertainty, or the unexpected.

The goal isn’t to eliminate the wobble.
It’s to learn how to stay with it.

So next time you feel yourself shaking…
don’t fight it.

Sway a little.
Breathe.
Find your version of steady within the movement.

Because strength isn’t rigid.
It’s responsive.

✨ Yoga for Teens is Back ✨

A space for your teen to move, breathe, reset — and just be.

In a world that moves fast and asks a lot of them, this 9-week course offers something different. A chance to slow down, build confidence, and feel more at home in their body.

Led by Ruby McKay, this course is designed specifically for teens aged 12–15 — blending movement, mindfulness and real-life tools to support them both on and off the mat.

🌈 Build resilience + regulate stress
💪 Improve strength, mobility + body awareness
💖 Foster confidence + self-acceptance
🌿 Learn to pause, reset and reconnect

This is more than just a class — it’s a foundation they’ll carry with them.

🍂 Why Yin Yoga Is Exactly What Your Body Needs Right Now

As summer softens and we move toward autumn here in the Southern Hemisphere, nature begins to shift - the days shorten, the heat settles, and everything starts to turn inward.

Yin yoga honours this same rhythm in our bodies.

Unlike more dynamic practices that work muscular strength and cardiovascular energy, Yin yoga targets the deeper tissues - fascia, ligaments, joints and connective tissue. By holding poses for longer periods (often 3–5 minutes), we gently stress these tissues in a way that helps maintain hydration, elasticity and joint health.

Teachers like Paul Grilley and Sarah Powers often remind us that Yin isn’t about stretching harder - it’s about working with time, gravity and awareness to nourish the body’s deeper architecture.

But Yin isn’t just physical.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, this seasonal shift aligns with the Earth element, associated with the Spleen and Stomach meridians - energetic pathways that influence digestion, grounding and emotional stability.

When the Earth element is balanced, we feel centred, nourished and steady.
When it’s depleted, we may feel overwhelmed, fatigued or scattered.

Yin practices that stimulate these meridians - particularly through poses that gently compress or lengthen the inner legs, hips and belly - can support the body during this transition.

In other words:
✨ it nourishes the joints
✨ supports fascia health
✨ regulates the nervous system
✨ and reconnects us to the quieter rhythm of the season

As autumn approaches, Yin becomes less of a luxury and more of a seasonal medicine.

Slow down.
Stay longer.
Listen deeper.

Your body will thank you.

Strong doesn’t always look the way we were taught.

Sometimes strength looks like lifting heavier.
Sometimes it looks like resting.

Sometimes it’s speaking up.
Sometimes it’s simply walking into a room where you once felt small.

At Wonder, we see strength every day.

In the women who arrive exhausted but still roll out their mat.
In the ones rebuilding trust in their bodies.
In the ones learning to take up space again.

Strength isn’t one shape.
It isn’t one body.
And it isn’t loud all the time.

Today, on International Women’s Day, we celebrate the women who show up — imperfectly, courageously, and together.

Because when women move, support, and grow alongside each other…

something powerful happens.

Happy International Women’s Day 🤎

POV: Your yoga studio just turned 8 and is now old enough to have opinions.

If Wonder was an 8-year-old she’d be:

✨ Loud about what she loves
✨ Slightly bossy about alignment
✨ Deeply emotional during savasana
✨ Obsessed with snacks (post-class obviously)
✨ And VERY protective of her friends

Eight years ago we were a baby business with big dreams and zero chill.

Now?
We’re confident.
A little bit bold.
Still rearranging the furniture.
Still turning up the music.
Still doing things differently.

Because most studios sell workouts.

We build community.
We host dinners.
We know your name.
We celebrate your wins.
We care when you don’t show up.

Eight years in and we’re not growing up anytime soon.

Same heart.
Bigger impact.
Stronger glutes.

Happy 8th Birthday to us 🤎
