This week the staff and residents of Belmont Grange came together to celebrate the beautiful Festival of Lights — Diwali!

Everyone shared in a delicious cake, traditional sweets, and a feast of Indian foods. Residents enjoyed beautiful henna designs, dressed up in colourful saris, and danced to Indian music, all while soaking in the festive spirit.

It was a day full of colour, laughter, and connection. Celebrating the diverse cultures in the home truly makes Belmont Grange shine even brighter!

Meet Betty Dangerfield, one of the wonderful residents at Belmont Grange! At 97, Betty is still full of energy and spirit, especially when it comes to cheering on her beloved Cats and her grandson, Patrick Dangerfield.

This Saturday, Betty will be watching the big game at Belmont Grange. Her advice for the team? “Behave yourself and have fun!”

Betty’s favourite player isn’t just her grandson—she’s a huge fan of former premiership captain Joel Selwood too! If the Cats win, she’ll be cheering as Selwood presents the cup to Patrick and coach Chris Scott—a moment she believes they all deserve.

Tune into ABC News at 7.00pm tonight to see Betty getting ready to cheer on her beloved Cats.

Belmont Grange residents, Phyllis, and Jenny had an amazing time at the Geelong Cats vs St Kilda AFL Football Club game on Sunday, and even better with a Cats win! Joined by the wonderful lifestyle team from Belmont Grange, the outing was filled with excitement, laughter, and a wonderful sense of community spirit. 🐱🏉

A heartfelt thank you to Anam Cara House Geelong for generously providing the tickets we’re so grateful to be part of such a warm and connected Geelong community. 💙🤍

1. Life in Homestyle Aged Care.
2. Steps for entry into Aged Care.
3. Fees and Charges associated with Residential Aged Care.

Belmont Grange residents are absolutely thrilled to share that their home has been successful in securing a place in the Maggie Beer Foundation’s Trainer Mentor Program, kicking off at the end of August! 🥳🍽️

The Trainer Mentor Program pairs Aged Care home kitchen teams with a qualified chef trainer, who will mentor our team with new ideas and recipes for flavourful and nutritious food and deliver an enhanced dining experience for the residents. 🫑🥕🧅🥗🍲

This wonderful initiative is all about elevating the entire dining experience — from complementing the nutritional value of our meals to building staff skills and making improvements in our kitchen.

We are so excited and proud to be part of this program. 🎉🎊🫶

Belmont Lodge was purchased in 1988 and was Homestyle's first Aged Care home. It was later extended and re-named Belmont Grange in 2000.

Belmont Grange has recently undergone a major renovation, beginning January 2023 and will be completed by the end of June.

It's been a work in progress, and has at times been challenging for staff and the residents to work around and live with, and we thank you for your patience and consideration. The wait has been worth it though, with just a few finishing touches to go!

The renovations have helped foster an environment where the residents can thrive, promoting their health and sense of well-being, in a familiar setting that priorities privacy, autonomy and a sense of belonging. The new spaces have helped to promote community engagement, encouraging the residents to maintain connections and enabling their continued participation in activities.
