(4)

Art therapy can be used for individual growth, insight and empowerment, families, corporate, groups and so much more. Art therapy uses creative modalities, including drawing, painting, sculpture, collage, phototherapy, play, drama, & dance/movement within a therapeutic relationship to improve & connect to physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. Art is a therapeutic & diagnostic tool where therapist & client develop a dynamic interpersonal relationship. It differs from traditional art in that the emphasis is on the process of creating rather than the end product. It is a process suitable for all ages for those who may be experiencing life changes, trauma, illness or disabilities causing distress for the individual. Art therapy works by contributing to changes in the client's inner world, & towards the development of a client's more integrated sense of self, with increased awareness, acceptance & emotional well-being.

Our Story

Hi, I’m Rachel from Healing Penn Creative somatic modalities.

Healing Penn has been professionally, creatively and somatically specializing in trauma, anxiety, addiction recovery and personal development since 2013.

I found myself being drawn to this field of work after being inspired by many of my own “unconventional” creative and innovative therapists I have worked with over time, on what was once my own seemingly impossible journey of wellness, pattern breaking, resilience forming and boundary building . Once upon a time I experienced extreme anxiety, OCD, agoraphobia and bouts of depression I thought that’s just who I had become, a person who now had to live with and manage these symptoms.

I completely understand what it feels like to know what you “should” or “could” be doing compared with what you are actually physically and mentally capable of at the time...Oh the overwhelm...
