From monthly migraines to feeling like herself again. When this lovely client came to see me, she’d been experiencing debilitating migraines every month for eight years, starting after the birth of her second child.

The pain would hit 1–2 times per cycle, just before her period. It wasn’t just a headache; it meant time off work, needing to lie in a dark room, missing out on life with her kids, and it was putting a real strain on her marriage. She was also dealing with heavy, painful periods, premenstrual insomnia, mood changes, chronic sinus issues and dry, itchy skin.

We started with thorough testing to assess her hormones, nutrient levels and methylation profile and from there, built a treatment plan using nutritional and herbal medicine support.

Leigh had been dealing with hormonal migraines since she was 13.
For over 25 years, she experienced 3–6 a month, usually around her period or ovulation.

Gut feeling off lately? Sometimes it’s not what you’re eating, but how you’re living day to day, that’s doing the damage.

Here are a few habits that could be impacting your gut health and leading to symptoms like bloating, fatigue, breakouts, and poor sleep 👇

🍽️ Skipping meals
Regular meals help keep your hormones, metabolism and digestion in sync. Going too long without eating can disrupt your gut bacteria and leave you feeling sluggish, gassy, and nutrient-depleted.

🥚 No protein at breakfast
Protein in the morning helps stabilise your blood sugar, energy, and mood for the day ahead. Without it, you’re more likely to feel flat, foggy, and experience poor digestive function.

🚶‍♀️ Eating on the run
Digestion needs calm. When you’re stressed, distracted, or in a rush, your body isn’t in the right state to digest food properly, leading to bloating, discomfort, and poor nutrient absorption.

🛌 Inconsistent sleep
Your gut thrives on rhythm. Poor or irregular sleep can mess with hunger cues, slow down your digestion, and leave your gut (and you) feeling out of whack.
