How often do you pause to consider a business’s why before engaging with their service or product? And if you did — would it influence your decision?

At MOVE, our purpose is clear: “We believe everyone should have access to movement. We are driven to empower our clients to experience the freedom, strength, and confidence that movement provides — and to inspire others to do the same.”

Everything we offer is grounded in this philosophy. We prioritise you — your context, your goals, and where you are in your health journey. We don’t rush recovery. Instead, we take a considered approach, aiming to exceed expectations by supporting you to achieve more than you initially thought possible.

Our ‘why’ extends beyond our clients too. To truly deliver on this, we invest deeply in our people and environment. We cultivate a culture of curiosity, continuous learning, and collaboration — a unified team working toward a shared standard (the highest standard) of care.

Because meaningful outcomes are not created in isolation, they are built through alignment, intention, and shared purpose.

Ever had Dry Needling in the Glutes?
For some people, it’s the Nick Daicos of trigger point therapy (a game changer) — especially if you’re dealing with deep hip tightness, lower back pain, or an “ache” that won’t shift.

Dry Needling can access deeper trigger points that are often hard to reach with hands alone, helping to more effectively “switch off” overactive muscles and reduce pain.

Tension or overactive glutes can have widespread effects — contributing to issues up into the lower back, or down into the legs and groin. That’s why targeted release can create a powerful flow-on effect throughout the body.

When your body is able to let go of excess tension, you gain the freedom to move better, and more confidently, allowing you to build strength more effectively.

Frozen shoulder is a painful and functionally debilitating condition, making sleep and daily activities like getting dressed very difficult.

Time to recover can take well over 12-18 months for some people - but with personalised support that time can be significantly reduced.

Alongside light stretching and mobility training, remedial massage can also be a treatment option to promote movement, and reduce inflammation. Massage techniques that target the rotator cuff and surrounding tissues may hep free-up the join, and dial down pain.

Read to the end for a deeper insight into hands-on/manual therapy.

When physiotherapists use hands-on therapy; such as joint mobilisation, soft tissue work, or assisted movement. The goal isn’t to “put things back into place” or magically fix tissue.

The main benefit is how it changes the way the nervous system processes movement and pain.

Manual therapy provides the body with specific mechanical input—pressure, stretch, or movement through a joint or soft tissue. This input can temporarily reduce protective muscle tone, decrease pain sensitivity, and improve range of motion, essentially turning the volume down on the body’s alarm system.

These effects are usually short-term, but they create a window of opportunity where movement feels easier and less threatening. That’s when we introduce exercise such as strength, loading, or motor control, to drive longer-term improvements in tissue capacity and movement.

Meet Oli — Please welcome Move’s newest senior Physiotherapist Oli Chivers.

Growing up in regional Victoria, Oli understands the importance of community values and building strong connections with his clients. He is passionate about working with them towards return-to-movement and performance.

"If you’re living with hypermobility (HSD, hEDS), more movement isn’t always the answer, better control is. Closed kinetic chain (CKC) training focuses on exactly that.
When your hands or feet are anchored to a stable surface, your body is forced to create co-contraction — a coordinated effort between opposing muscle groups that surround and support your joints. Instead of relying on passive structures like ligaments (which are already more lax in hypermobility), your body learns to generate active stability.

Hypermobile joints often lack neuromuscular control to know where they are in space. CKC training helps restore that internal awareness (proprioception), giving your brain clearer feedback so it can better guide movement and prevent excessive range.
Another key benefit is that CKC exercises limit uncontrolled motion that result in drifting into end ranges or hyperextension. Over time, this reduces strain and helps protect against things like micro-instability or subluxations.

Importantly, these patterns are highly functional. They reflect how your body is meant to work in real life—absorbing force, distributing load, and stabilising during everyday movements. That carryover is what makes this style of training so valuable.

Pins and needles, numbness, or tingling in the hands is often blamed on carpal tunnel syndrome—but that’s not always the case.

These symptoms can also come from the neck, shoulder, other nerve compressions in the arm, or even systemic factors like circulation or diabetes.

Getting the right diagnosis matters, as treating the wrong area can delay recovery and keep symptoms lingering.

Most cases respond well once the true cause is identified and managed with the right combination of education, load management, and targeted treatment.

If your symptoms are persistent or don’t quite fit the typical pattern, it’s worth getting them assessed.

457km.
68 hours.
32 minutes of sleep across 3 nights.

That's what it took for to take 3rd in the world on his Backyard Ultra debut — Australian record holder, and a spot on the Aussie BYU team. 🇦🇺

We're stoked to back Brady. And this win? It's exactly why we do what we do.

We talk a lot about culture at Move — about empowering every body to move further than they thought possible. About what it feels like to have a team in your corner who actually believes in what your body can do, even when what it's doing is running a 6.7km loop for three days straight.

Brady, you live every value we stand for.
We Care. We Connect. We're Curious. We Empower.
Onto the next one. 👊

PS anyone interested in book list ?
