Formerly Home Instead Australia, Dovida provides high-quality, person-centred home care to the Geelong community. Dovida creates a Circle of Care that places individuals at the centre of a holistic support system, uniting families, our skilled caregivers, our support teams, and the wider healthcare community. We provide a range of services including everyday companionship, domestic assistance, personal care, meal preparation, medication reminders, and transport to appointments, shopping and social outings. Care is available up to 24hrs a day and ranges from light housekeeping to dementia care and palliative care.

One of the simplest ways to assess a loved one’s nutritional health is by checking the fridge. Look for a variety of fresh, nutritious foods, and take note of any expired or moldy items that could pose a risk to their health.

Be mindful of how you approach this—avoid making them feel embarrassed or judged. For example, instead of commenting on moldy bread, discreetly dispose of it and say, “I thought I’d pick up a few things for you while I was at the store.”

Meet Valmai - our January calendar star! 🌟​

At 86, Valmai has been bringing her community together for 70 years as a CWA member, hosting morning teas, packing care bags for domestic violence survivors, and baking up a storm.​

Despite gradually losing her central vision over 30 years, Valmai still cooks from memory and feel (with a little help from her Dovida carers Judy and Donna).​

Her famous Ginger Spice Slice opens our 2026 calendar.
