We’ve all done it… taken our phone to the toilet for a quick scroll 📱🚽

But did you know spending too long on the toilet can actually impact your bowel and pelvic floor health?

A recent article from Continence Health Australia explains how scrolling while sitting on the toilet may contribute to issues like straining, incomplete emptying, haemorrhoids and pelvic floor tension.

Sometimes the simplest habits can make a big difference to our health 💙

So next time you head to the bathroom… maybe leave the phone outside the door 😉

If you live with persistent pain, you’ve probably heard that stress makes it worse but understanding why can change how you approach it.

Stress doesn’t just affect your mind - it influences your nervous system, hormones, and how pain is experienced. When it sticks around, it can amplify pain and slow recovery, creating a cycle that’s hard to break.

The good news? Small, consistent changes can help:
✔️ Build supportive connections
✔️ Find manageable movement
✔️ Prioritise rest (even if sleep is tricky)
✔️ Create more predictability in your day

Stress isn’t the enemy - it’s your body trying to protect you. Understanding that is often the first step toward change 💛

CLASS AT CAPACITY BUT TAKING ENQUIRIES FOR NEXT COHORT

As hormones shift during perimenopause, building and maintaining muscle and bone density becomes more challenging, making strength training more important than ever.

Traditional endurance-based exercise alone isn’t enough during this stage. Resistance training, particularly heavier lifting, helps counteract muscle loss and supports your metabolism in ways that oestrogen once did.

💪 Ready to start your strength journey?

We’ll be running our next Barbells & Beyond cohort in the next few weeks, in collaboration with Adapt Movement!

📅 Time TBD (best time that suits most!)
📍 Small group training focused on building confidence with strength work

To get started, you’ll need to complete an initial assessment with one of our physiotherapists before joining the group.

📧 If you’re interested, email Emily at hello@evolvepelvicphysio.au or call 99438095 to secure your spot or learn more here: https://www.adaptmovement.com.au/services/barbells-and-beyond

A major step forward for science—and long overdue.

Researchers have recently mapped the intricate network of nerves in the cl****is in unprecedented detail, shedding light on just how complex and sensitive this organ really is. For something that plays such a significant role in human sexuality, it’s astonishing how under-researched it has been for so long.

This breakthrough isn’t just about anatomy—it’s about closing knowledge gaps, improving medical understanding, and challenging the historical bias in how bodies (and especially women’s bodies) are studied.

Better data means better healthcare, better education, and fewer myths.

Science: catching up since 2026. 🔬😉

Waking up multiple times at night to use the bathroom? It might be nocturia, and it’s more common than you think.

Nocturia can disrupt your sleep, impact energy levels, and affect overall quality of life. While many people assume it’s just part of aging, there are often treatable causes.

💡 How physiotherapy can help:
✔️ Pelvic floor muscle training to improve bladder control
✔️ Bladder retraining strategies to reduce urgency
✔️ Fluid and lifestyle guidance (timing matters!)
✔️ Education on habits that may be worsening symptoms

Better sleep starts with better bladder health. If nocturia is affecting you or someone you know, a tailored physio approach can make a real difference.
