Youth Aboriginal Mental Health First Aid Training is happening today and tomorrow in Geraldton.

This is an incredible opportunity for us to come together and equip ourselves with the knowledge and tools to better support our young mob.

I am genuinely looking forward to seeing more people gain valuable insights and skills during these sessions. It's all about empowering our community to provide the best possible care and assistance to our youth.

Everyone should make the most of this training and continue to strengthen our efforts in promoting mental health and well-being among our young people.

Hope to See you at one of my sessions in 2026

.

for a long time, i thought being kind meant saying yes.

keeping the peace

making sure everyone else was okay, even when i wasn’t

i didn’t know that every time i said yes to someone else, i was quietly saying no to myself

learning to set boundaries wasn’t easy

it brought up guilt, fear, and all the old stories about being selfish or too much

but somewhere along the way, i realised boundaries aren’t about pushing people away

they’re about being honest enough to stay connected without losing yourself

/ they protect your energy

/ they teach people how to treat you

/ they reduce resentment

/ they create space for what really matters

it’s the kind of self-respect that doesn’t need to be announced - it just changes how you move through the world.

Today is World Su***de Prevention Day.

It’s a day to honour the memories of those we’ve lost to su***de and to offer support to those facing difficult times and those living with the grief of losing someone.

The message of ‘Changing the Narrative on Su***de’ encourages us to change how we talk about su***de. To replace silence and stigma for empathy, compassion and action.

We all have a role to play in staying connected, showing up for those we care about and helping those struggling access the support they need.

Show the people around you that you’re there for them by asking 'are you OK?'. Because a conversation could change a life.

Today, on World Su***de Prevention Day, we pause to remember, reflect and remind each other that every single life matters. A simple check-in, a kind word, or a genuine conversation can make all the difference.

Let’s break the silence, spread hope, and stand together to prevent su***de. 💛✨
