Indoor Activities Crafting
The Coach Studio. Tuesday 12 noon - 2pm
Our community arts and craft group is open to all support staff and participants. Sessions run for around 1.5–2 hours and include painting, papier-mâché, colouring, music, and more. It’s a relaxed, creative space to socialise, cool off, and explore new hobbies.
You’re welcome to bring your own board game or craft project or use our supplies. Your first visit is free, and ongoing access is just a one-time $25 to join the Cultural Trust membership — giving you entry to our craft group, library, and all other programs at the Cultural Trust.

📜 Newly Digitised: NSW Convict Death Registers 📜

Museums of History NSW have recently digitised the NSW Convict Death Register (series NRS-12213) and made it available online through the NSW State Archives catalogue. This is a valuable new resource for family and social history research.

What does the register record?
The register documents the deaths of convicts who died while serving their sentences. Entries may include:
• Name of the convict
• Ship of arrival
• Age
• Date of burial
• Parish
• Occasionally additional notes or remarks

These deaths were reported to the Principal Superintendent of Convicts (to 1855) and later to the Inspector General of Police.

📂 How it’s arranged
• Alphabetical by surname
• Then chronological by date of death
• Indexed via the Convicts Index 1791–1873

For anyone researching early NSW convicts, this newly digitised register offers another important piece of the puzzle, helping to confirm dates, places, and final chapters of lives lived under sentence.

A fantastic example of how digitisation continues to open doors for historians, genealogists, and descendants alike.
