May is Macula Awareness Month š
Itās something we donāt always think about, but your macula plays a big role in how you see the world - especially when it comes to reading, driving, and recognising faces.
Conditions like macular degeneration are more common than people realise, particularly as we get older⦠and the tricky part is, early changes can happen without you noticing.
When symptoms do show up, they might look like:
⢠Blurry or distorted vision
⢠Trouble reading
⢠Dark or patchy spots in your central vision
The good news?
A simple eye test can pick up early signs - often before it starts affecting your day-to-day life.
So, if itās been a while since your last check, or youāve noticed any changes, itās worth booking in.
And itās always a good reminder to check in with your parents or loved ones too š
