The past week at MWCLA has been really busy. Our activity room has been a hive of activity. The customers had a fabulous session using fabric markers to decorate calico to make a bag to carry their cup to and from the HUB.

Bingo was back and the room was full, with some great number callers and lots of winners. Many of the customers have been dropping in to play cards, have a cuppa or eat lunch, especially when it was so hot. 🌈🎉👏💫

Jack's shed has been busy with customers collecting and bundling newspapers.

We are super excited😊 to be starting our new program. The SAS, Secret Agent Society program will commence and run for 9 weeks on Monday 2nd February and Tuesday 3rd February after school, with two cohorts. 🧍‍♂️🧍‍♀️The SAS program is an award winning,🏆 evidence-based social and emotional skill development program designed to help children who struggle with social participation, emotion recognition and regulation. 🙂SAS empowers the children to feel happier, calmer and braver while making and maintaining friendships and engaging them in the community by equipping them with a toolbox of strategies they can use in any situation.💼 Enquire to MWCLA for information on the next program start date.

Their mission? To support teenagers and young people in Geraldton and the Midwest region of Western Australia to navigate social situations and thrive.

What a wonderful two weeks back at MWCLA. Our customers have been exploring all kinds of activities-and we've loved seeing everyone's creativity and smiles shining through. Painting, making magnetic photo frames, lego, playing pool, using the interative projector, BINGO, chatting, boccia; the HUB has been a hive of activity. We are so proud of what everyone achieved and cant wait to see what next week brings! 🌟🎉👏💫😊

On Friday we celebrated with our annual Christmas Party, at OUR CAFE. It was perfect! We had a visit from a very happy Santa who gave away candy canes. We were treated to the annual dance from our office peeps followed by the amazingly talented Beyond Beats dancers. We popped the crackers then tucked into our feast, chosen by our customers. We dined on ham, chicken and an array of salads. To top off lunch we made our own icecream bowls from the icecream bar. Yum! We played a few games, sang some karoke and tried out the new pool table. It was a beautiful celebration.

A busy couple of weeks in the community. This Thursday 20 Nove 11.20am-1.30pm, Central Regional TAFE celebrate International Day of People with Disability. The next week Wednesday 26th Nov 3pm-5pm the City of Geraldton host the All Abilities day at the QE2 centre. All Welcome.

Wow, what a fantastic first week we have had at our new HUB in our beautiful new building at 4/89 Durlacher Street. We had Crafty Corner on Monday where we were making products for our Christmas Markets on the Terrace stall. On Wednesday a group of customers attended the Lighthouse Lunch. On Thursday we had customers come in to play pool, chat, eat lunch and make some cards. On Friday we had a Full House for Bingo. A number of customers had a turn at being the Bingo caller.
