Medical Receptionist – Permanent Position

We are seeking an experienced and patient-focused Medical Receptionist to join our busy general practice.
This role is key to ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the clinic and delivering a high standard of care to our patients.

Key responsibilities include:
Front-desk reception and patient greeting
Appointment scheduling and phone management
Patient registrations, billing, bulk billing and EFTPOS
Managing test result enquiries, prescription requests and correspondence
Daily administration including banking, mail, scanning and filing
Maintaining confidentiality, accuracy and a welcoming reception environment.

About you:
Minimum 1 year experience as a medical receptionist or in a similar role
Completion of a medical receptionist course or solid medical terminology knowledge
Confident communicator with a calm, professional manner
Highly organised, accurate and able to prioritise in a busy setting
Strong computer skills including MS Word and Excel
Desirable but not essential: Experience with Medical Director and Pracsoft
Knowledge of Medicare and health funds
CPR, triage or emergency management training

Hours & conditions: Permanent position with 3-month probation
Rostered between 7:30am and 5:30pm, Monday to Friday
Ongoing training and professional development provided

With our Christmas hours coming into effect soon, we kindly ask patients to please request repeat prescriptions before you completely run out of your medication, you can do so by booking a appointment with your GP or going online to HotDoc.

During the holiday period we’ll be operating on reduced hours (half days), which can make it more difficult to process last minute script requests in a short time frame.

Planning ahead helps ensure you don’t miss out and keeps everything running smoothly for everyone.
