Lunch. My favourite meal of the day.
I'm lucky enough to live close enough to nip home often for lunch, and this is my go to. It takes literally 5 minutes to throw together (and yes, that is some sourdough rye bread roll under the lashings of avocado & butter).

FEED thy anxious brain...

There's a lot of anxiety in the world (in case you hadn't noticed). It’s such a whole-body experience. The awkward & tight chest, the racing heart, the sweating, the muscle tension, the wobbly tummy.
Fed by the thoughts looping round & round in our mind. An uncontrollable urgency that says 'if I can just keep these worries close at hand, I might just stay in control of things'.
It’s exhausting.

When anxiety is up like this, I really don’t think it’s possible to think our way out of it. The mind is too intent on focusing on its worries to think all the sensible thoughts. We need another strategy.
Starting with the brain itself. When we’re anxious, we forget to eat. But, an un-fed brain sends out lots of stress chemicals- the absolute last thing you need when you’re already anxious.
Try having a small protein snack (yep, even as you’re flipping out): peanut butter on a rice cake, a boiled egg, a bit of leftover quiche. And, I promise, in 10 minutes you’ll notice a change. The anxiety is still present, but its charge has lessened. Your nervous system has a chance to settle, and there’s the possibility that those sensible thoughts get a look in.

These are anxious times for many people in our world. Go gently.

Hope your weekend is wonderful.

The mental and emotional load that comes with having children does not end when they grow up.
Why did I take so long to understand this?? I've preferred to delude myself into believing that all will be well once they become big humans & my emotional capacity will be restored once again.

What a reality check I've been gifted...
Thank goodness for nervous system herbs, is all I can say.
I've been hitting the bottles of passionflower, rhodiola & withania - HARD!

If you find yourself spiralling into anxious, over-thinking, you might just want to have some of these gorgeous herbs on hand.

D R O P - I N today from 1-2pm.

DROP-IN CLINIC IS BACK..

Thursdays 1-2pm.
Free mini-consultations.
I get that not everyone has the time or resources to access Natural Medicine. I wish it were different...imagine the day when you might just swipe your Medicare card...(sigh!).
Until such time, please use this space to pop-in & have a little chat about what your body might be needing to support it in doing all its many things.

All welcome, come just as you are.

Goodness- how quickly the year is moving already! Somehow, I slipped back into the clinic after a beautiful bit of time away (NZ, we'll be back!) and found the accelerator on full-steam-ahead. It feels like a different sort of energy already compared to 2025...I like it a lot!
This year in clinic brings with it more in the way of student mentoring (I'm quietly hoping that we might attract another Naturopath to town!) and a bit of a change in clinic hours as I make room for some extra study (stay tuned...).

My vision of health for us all this year is that we nourish & accept our body E N O U G H. Not to be part of some wellness craze or because we're striving for perfection, but simply so we can experience the full-spectrum of life with ease & delight.

Our Story

My journey as a Naturopath started 20 years ago when, fresh-faced from a year travelling around Australia, I stumbled through the doors of the Perth Academy of Natural Therapies. After dabbling in Chemistry, Mathematics (seriously!) & Nursing at University for few years, suddenly I felt like I was home. After graduating, I worked in busy clinics in Fremantle & Bunbury before, quite literally, landing with my young family in Geraldton for a little explore of the Mid-West. Fast forward 10 years and here I am, doing what I love. Helping patients understand how their body is trying to show them that all is not so well, whether this be headaches, joint pain, skin rashes or depression. The body has many ways of showing us when all is not so well inside- it is up to us to listen! Nature has provided an extensive array of healing tools- nutrients, herbal & homoeopathic medicines, and a glorious variety of foods. I use each of these to gently support the healing process & remove the obstacles that are getting in the way of the body feeling great.
