The Best Way to Care for Your Back Pain:

✅ Keep moving: It’s safe and healthy to bend, lift, twist, and move, even if it feels uncomfortable at first. That discomfort reflects sensitivity, not damage. Gradual movement makes your back stronger and more resilient.

✅ Ditch the fear: Backs don’t “wear out” from use; in fact, avoiding movement makes them weaker.

✅ Focus on self-management: Research shows the best results come from understanding your pain, staying active, relaxing your muscles, managing stress, and improving sleep.

✅ Build confidence: Even if pain has been around for months or years, it can significantly improve with the right guidance and support.

“The best long-term treatment is learning to care for your own back, not relying on constant treatment.”

Have you’ve been told “nothing’s wrong” with your back, or you have “normal degenerative changes” on imaging? You’re not alone and it doesn’t mean your pain isn’t real.

👉 Research shows that around 95% of people with back pain don’t have any tissue damage on a scan. Back pain is complex and influenced by many factors, not just your spine. Things like poor sleep, muscle tension, inactivity, stress, low mood, and even beliefs about your pain can turn the “volume dial” up on your nervous system, making your back feel sore and sensitive.

The good news is even long-term back pain can improve with the right care. Staying calm, moving gently, and addressing lifestyle factors like sleep, stress and activity helps calm your nervous system, often more than rest, injections or surgeries.

And let’s not forget the chin wag — because moving well and laughing often go hand in hand! 😂
Here’s to the quiet achievers who make health a habit.
