ATLAS - Access to Leisure and Sport

ATLAS - Access to Leisure and Sport ATLAS Provides a Range of Services and Products to People Living with a Disability Atlas (Access To Leisure And Sport Inc.) It is how it feels to get involved.

is a public benevolent non-profit charity organization. We are based in Geraldton, Western Australia and have been serving the community since 2003. We work to increase people with disabilities access and inclusion in community. Access is about making the physical facilities suitable for all people to be able to participate

Inclusion is about the culture of a group or organization. Whether you feel welcome and able to get involved in areas that interest you to your full capacity. To achieve improvements in access and inclusion we work both with people with disabilities and with organisers and developers directly. This two way process is designed to bring people together to enable better decisions about how we make a better community now and in the future. We don't run programs, we help people to get involved in what-ever is happening in the community.

🚲 🌭 Cycle to sizzle!

β˜€οΈ You might have seen the convoy of ATLAS Participants and their Leisure Buddies riding along the beautiful Geraldton Foreshore recently. Everyone had a great time connecting with friends, soaking up the sunshine, and finishing off with a well earned BBQ!

Big thank you to our long time community partner, Revolutions Geraldton for the bike, trike and rickshaw hire!

ID: A group of ATLAS Participants and Leisure Buddies sit and stand around a picnic table under a shaded shelter. Everyone is enjoying food after their ride, chatting and smiling in the sunshine. Several bicycles and trikes can be seen parked nearby, and the background shows green lawns, trees, and coastal houses under a bright blue sky.

🌿✨ What a wonderful morning down at the Chapman River trail! Participants and their Leisure Buddies set out to explore the stunning bushland and enjoy the fresh air together. With the use of adaptive trekking chairs and a powered trekking wheelchair, everyone was able to take part and experience the beauty of the trail, making the walk accessible and inclusive for all abilities. πŸ’šβ™ΏοΈ

The Chapman River trail offered the perfect mix of scenery, connection with nature, and opportunities to stay active while sharing the experience side by side. 🌞🌳

This activity is a part of the Outdoor Active Recreation Participation Grant from the WA Government helping us make outdoor adventures like this possible for everyone. πŸ™Œ

πŸ¦˜β˜€οΈ Fletcher and his Leisure Buddy recently went out to the Greenough Wildlife & Bird Park and had a great time interacting with and feeding all the different animals! 🫢

ID: A collage titled β€œLeisure Buddy Cam!” shows Fletcher visiting Greenough Wildlife Park. In the top photo, Fletcher stands next to the entrance sign for the park, smiling with one hand resting on his hip. The bottom left photo captures a close-up of an ostrich looking through a wire fence. In the bottom right photo, Fletcher is feeding a kangaroo through the fence, holding a small paper bag of food in one hand while the kangaroo eats from his other hand. The collage has a fun, nature-themed border with leaves, a tree, and a kangaroo illustration.
