∆ The Endo Movement ∆

Movement, Education & Support for Endometriosis this month at FS8.

Did you know Pilates can support more than just strength and flexibility?

For many women living with Endometriosis chronic pelvic pain and autoimmune conditions, movement can feel complicated and scary. Pain, fatigue, inflammation and flare-ups can make exercise feel overwhelming and often impossible at times.

At FS8 Pilates Shellharbour, we believe education, low impact movement and community support can make a huge difference for women navigating conditions like Endometriosis.

Research and clinical experience suggest that low impact, controlled movement can support the body in several ways:

• reducing systemic inflammation
• improving circulation and lymphatic flow
• supporting nervous system regulation
• strengthening deep core and pelvic stabilisers
• improving posture and breathing mechanics
• helping regulate stress hormones linked to flare-ups

Pilates offers a low impact, supportive approach to movement that many women with Endometriosis or chronic health conditions find helpful in managing pain, inflammation and fatigue.

In Australia, around 1 in 7–10 women live with Endometriosis, and many spend years searching for answers before receiving a diagnosis.

That’s why conversations around movement, education and support are so important.

If you or someone you know is navigating this journey, know that you’re not alone 💛

Throughout March we’ll be sharing more resources and conversations around pelvic health and chronic pain.

Graduation 2025 🙌 Last week I had the joy of graduating from the University of Melbourne with a Master of Physiotherapy (Pelvic Health). A wonderful finish to a big 3 years.

My girls and husband were there to support me and I also had the pleasure of sitting alongside my fellow graduates including my research team that I am still working closely with researching pelvic floor disorders in women with gynaecological cancer.

Always onwards!! 🤩🤩

Thank you to everyone who supported me and taught me along the way including my wonderful team at Calm!

Thank you to Robyn Brennen and Elise Fraser who inspired me, connected me to my learning and passion and continued to challenge me right until the end 💜💜

∆ Kids Continence ∆

Children usually achieve dry days and nights by the age of 5 years old. However 1 in 3 kids will experience "poo problems" and 1 in 10 kids will experience "wee problems" such as day wetting, night wetting or faecal incontinence (poo accidents). 95% of kids continence issues are functional, meaning they are related to issues such as constipation, pelvic floor muscle coordination, overfilling, incomplete bladder emptying and fear of toileting.

Our continence physios use non-invasive imaging and child friendly treatment strategies to help kids achieve dry days and nights.

Imaging such as real time ultrasound help us to understand a child's control of the pelvic floor muscles, loading of the re**um related to chronic constipation and how well their little bladders fill and empty. 🌻👏
