Skin cancer can develop in often-overlooked areas like the scalp, lips, ears, soles of the feet, palms, under nails, inside the mouth and around the eyes.

Risk factors include sun exposure, fair skin, a history of sunburn, family history and having many moles.

Regular self-checks and routine skin checks with your doctor can help detect changes early. Speak with your doctor if you notice anything new or unusual and book your next appointment online.

Australia’s UV levels are among the highest in the world, increasing the risk of skin cancer. Sun protection, regular self-examination and routine skin checks are key preventative measures.
