About Us
Distinctive Options is a disability service provider spanning Northwest and Eastern Victoria. We are closing the divide and empowering change in people’s perception of disability within the workplace and want you to join our journey as we provide supported disability employment across our social enterprises.
The Opportunity
The DO Food Project is a new take on the typical café. Having operated in Gisborne since October 2022, we provide purposeful employment for people with disabilities in a natural work café environment.
As the Operations and Support Assistant for this dynamic disability enterprise, you will be pivotal in fostering empowerment and growth for our supported employees. Your commitment to our mission will drive positive change by creating inclusive opportunities for individuals with disabilities to thrive, contribute and grow in the DO Food Project Café.
In this role, you will be assisting our diverse café workers in preparing and plating food and beverages, delivering an excellent level of customer service, and assisting the Café Supervisor in the operations of the DO Food Project Cafe. Your dedication to promoting an inclusive world will be evident in your support of adaptive tools and techniques that empower all team members to participate and excel.
Collaboration will be at the heart of your responsibility as you work closely with diverse individuals to foster a culture of unity and shared achievement. Your support will extend beyond food quality, offering mentorship and guidance to team members and helping them build skills and confidence.
As an Operations and Support Assistant, you will contribute to the growth of the DO Food Project Café and help redefine societal perceptions of disability.
Join us in this meaningful journey of empowerment, growth and social change, where every action you take helps create a world where diversity is accepted, and opportunities are accessible to all.
