Clinically, “tired” can mean very different things.

Some people are wired but cannot rest.
Some feel heavy and foggy.
Some push through on adrenaline until they crash.
Some feel deeply depleted no matter how much they sleep.

These are not the same pattern, which means they should not be approached the same way.
In Chinese Medicine, we look at the underlying presentation of the body, nervous system, digestion, hormones, circulation and stress response to understand why energy is low in the first place.

Because the right treatment depends on the right diagnosis.

Which fatigue type sounds most like you?

Ear Acu! Ear Acu! Ear Acu!
Auricular methods are my absolute favourite to use for anything mental health, or stubborn pain patterns. I love using the ears for things like anxiety, perimenopause symptoms (supporting the kidneys), addiction minimisation (cya vapes) and thyroid hormones.

From first trimester to postpartum, acupuncture offers gentle, evidence-informed support through every stage of pregnancy 🤍

In early pregnancy, we focus on stabilising hormones, supporting implantation and easing symptoms like nausea and fatigue. As you move into the third trimester, treatments shift toward preparing the body for labour by supporting cervical readiness, calming the nervous system and encouraging optimal positioning. Postnatally, acupuncture can help regulate hormones, support milk supply, replenish energy and assist recovery after birth.

If you’re navigating pregnancy, preparing for labour or in that postnatal phase and not feeling like yourself, this is where acupuncture & chinese medicine can step in to support your body naturally.

Available at my clinics in Albert Park, Gisborne, Gladstone Park and Taylors Lakes. Book via the link in bio.

Waking up between 2–4am every night is something I see all the time 🌛

In Chinese Medicine this time is associated with the Liver system which governs the smooth flow of Qi, emotional regulation and hormone balance. When this system is out of sync, it often shows up as night waking, especially with a busy mind, stress, PMS or muscle tension.

From a physiological perspective this is also when cortisol begins to rise and blood sugar can fluctuate, which can trigger alertness if your nervous system is already on edge.

This is why acupuncture can work so well for these patterns. We’re regulating the systems underneath your sleep.

If this is you, you don’t have to just put up with it.

Lower back pain, sciatica or dealing with a disc herniation or prolapse?

This is electroacupuncture being used to support pain management and movement. By combining traditional acupuncture with a gentle electrical current, we aim to stimulate muscles, support circulation and help regulate nerve sensitivity.

It may be helpful for:
lower back pain
sciatica
disc bulges, herniation or prolapse
muscle tightness and restriction
nerve-related symptoms like tingling or numbness

Everyone responds differently, but many people notice changes in pain, mobility and overall comfort over a course of treatment.

If your symptoms are persistent or not improving, it might be time to explore a different approach.

Available across Albert Park, Gisborne, Gladstone Park and Taylors Lakes

Muscle growth isn’t just about hitting your protein target or lifting heavier. Your body actually needs to be in a state where it can digest, absorb, and utilise nutrients properly.

This is where I see a lot of people plateau.

If digestion is off (bloating, low appetite, heaviness after eating), you’re not breaking down and absorbing nutrients efficiently. From a biomedical perspective, that means reduced amino acid availability and impaired muscle protein synthesis. From a Chinese medicine lens, this comes back to Spleen and Stomach function.

Then there’s stress.

If your nervous system is constantly in overdrive, cortisol stays elevated, recovery drops, and your body shifts away from building and repairing. This is where Liver Qi stagnation often comes into play clinically.

So even if you’re doing “everything right”… your body might not be in the right state to respond.

This is exactly what I work on in clinic—supporting digestion, regulating the nervous system, and improving how your body actually responds to training.

If your progress feels slow, stuck, or inconsistent, it’s worth looking deeper.

A car chat about dryness around the finger tips. 🚘🤌🏽

In Chinese medicine, we don’t just see this as a skin issue. Dryness here often reflects a lack of nourishment in the Blood, combined with Cold obstructing the channels. Over time, this can contribute to stagnation in the uterus, showing up as painful periods, clots, delayed cycles, or fertility struggles.

One of the classic formulas I use in clinic is Wen Jing Tang. It warms the uterus, moves Blood, and restores proper flow where things have become stuck and undernourished.

This is what I love about Chinese medicine; we connect the small signs your body gives you to the bigger picture.

If you’ve been dealing with period pain, irregular cycles, or trying to conceive and not getting answers, this is your sign to look deeper.

Bookings are open via the link in my bio.

Anxiety doesn’t just affect your mind, it directly changes how your body processes hunger. 🍛

Whether it’s loss of appetite or overeating, both are physiological responses driven by your nervous system and hormones like cortisol, ghrelin and adrenaline.

This is where treatments like acupuncture can play a role, helping regulate the stress response and bring the body back into a state where digestion can function properly.

If you’ve noticed changes in your appetite during stressful periods, you’re not alone.
