After a burn, some common “quick fixes” can actually make things worse. Avoid applying ice, creams, or oils, and don’t break blisters or remove stuck clothing. Knowing what not to do is just as important as knowing the right first aid.
Unconsciousness can happen suddenly and often without warning. Sometimes it may be a brief fainting episode, but in other cases it could be linked to serious medical emergencies such as stroke, heart attack, or shock.
Cultural awareness can directly impact how first aid is delivered. In some situations, preferences around gender, communication, or decision-making must be balanced with duty of care and urgency.
Community events bring people together, but they also come with real safety responsibilities. Proper first aid planning helps ensure attendees receive care quickly and events can continue safely.
Happy Labour Day, Victoria! 💛 Today we’re celebrating the legends who keep our communities running — tradies, teachers, healthcare workers, office teams, hospitality staff and everyone in between.
In our latest blog, we talk about:
✔ Why Labour Day matters
✔ The importance of workplace safety
✔ How first aid skills protect teams every day
✔ The role of mental health support at work
It’s a reminder that looking after each other is part of what Labour Day represents.

This International Women’s Month, we recognise and celebrate the impact of women like Alison Thompson, Andrea Wyatt, Bridget Moran, and the pioneering women of the Royal Flying Doctor Service, who have shaped emergency care, humanitarian response, and community health across Australia and beyond.
Their leadership reminds us that courage, compassion, and skill can change lives.
💜 Who stepped up in your life? Tag her. Celebrate her. Share her story.

Choosing an AED should always come down to what suits your needs. Looking at options like the ZOLL AED Plus and Mindray BeneHeart C1A side by side helps highlight the features that matter most in an emergency. ⚡ If you're unsure which AED is right for you, feel free to send us a message here.
Eid al-Fitr is expected around 20 March, marking the end of Ramadan and bringing communities together for prayer, celebrations and large gatherings across Victoria. If you’re organizing an Eid event this year, now is the time to finalise your safety planning. Bigger crowds mean greater responsibility, and medical preparedness should be part of your plan from the start.
🔥 Something’s cooking, and it’s about to change the game!
👷♂️ Hint: It’s all about safety + success in construction.
👀 Stay tuned, big things are coming…

⚡ The 12-Month Rule Explained (LVR + CPR + First Aid)
When it comes to emergency response training, it’s not just about having a certificate — it’s about staying confident and competent when it matters most.
Here’s the recommended refresher schedule:
✅ Low Voltage Rescue (LVR): Every 12 months
✅ CPR (HLTAID009): Every 12 months
✅ Full First Aid (HLTAID011): Every 3 years (with CPR refreshed annually)
Because in real emergencies, skills fade faster than people realise — and compliance expectations don’t wait.
