Occupational Therapists (OTs) support neurodivergent adults to live in ways that work for them- not against them.
Our role isnβt to βfixβ people. Itβs to understand strengths, reduce barriers, and build a life that feels sustainable and authentic.
OTs can support with:
π§ Sensory regulation β understanding sensitivities, creating sensory-friendly environments, and using tools or strategies to feel more comfortable
ποΈ Executive functioning β breaking down tasks, building routines, and using supports for planning, organisation, and time management
π Daily living skills β making everyday tasks like cooking, cleaning, budgeting, and self-care more manageable
πΌ Work & study β identifying strengths, supporting accommodations, managing energy, and navigating communication
π§ Emotional regulation β recognising overwhelm, building coping strategies, and creating space for rest and recovery
𧩠Social participation β supporting communication, boundaries, and connection in ways that feel right for the individual
βοΈ Lifestyle & environment design β adapting routines, spaces, and expectations to suit the personβnot the other way around
At its core, OT is about helping people do the things they need, want, and have to do- in ways that honour who they are.
Because thriving shouldnβt mean changing yourself. π
