💙 Do you know how a TENS machine can help you feel better?

A TENS machine is one of the simplest tools we use in physiotherapy, yet it can make a big difference in how your body feels.

It works by sending gentle electrical pulses through the skin. These pulses calm the nerves, relax the muscles, and help your body release natural pain-relieving chemicals.

Why our clients love it:
• It reduces pain in a natural, drug-free way
• It eases tight, tired muscles
• It helps you move more comfortably during treatment
• It is safe for many conditions and feels like a light, pleasant tingling

What it can help with:
• Lower back pain
• Neck and shoulder tension
• Muscle strains
• Joint soreness
• Nerve pain
• Chronic pain flare-ups

A TENS session is often the moment patients say they finally feel their muscles “switch off” and relax. It is a small therapy, but it can bring big relief.

If you are dealing with ongoing pain or muscle tension, TENS may be the gentle boost your body needs.

👣 Do you know that Physiotherapy can help you manage your Plantar Fasciitis?

That sharp pain you feel under your heel when you take your first steps in the morning or after sitting for a while — that’s often Plantar Fasciitis.

It happens when the thick band of tissue under your foot (called the plantar fascia) becomes irritated or inflamed. This tissue helps support the arch of your foot and absorbs shock when you walk, so when it’s strained, it can cause a lot of discomfort.

💥 Common causes include:
• Standing or walking for long periods
• Wearing flat or unsupportive shoes
• Sudden increase in physical activity
• Tight calf muscles or poor foot mechanics

🩺 How Physiotherapy Helps
Physiotherapy is one of the most effective ways to relieve pain and prevent Plantar Fasciitis from coming back.
Here’s how we help:
✔️ Hands-on treatment to ease tension and reduce inflammation in the foot and calf
✔️ Stretching and strengthening exercises to support your arch and improve foot alignment
✔️ Taping or orthotic advice to reduce strain on the plantar fascia
✔️ Education on proper footwear, posture, and activity modification

With consistent treatment and the right exercises, most people recover and return to pain-free walking within weeks.

💙 At Active Physio Health, we help you move better, live better, and stay active — one step at a time.

🌞 Happy Friday from Active Physio Health!

It’s the end of the week, and that’s your cue to slow down, stretch, and check in with your body.

Before you head into the weekend, here’s your gentle reminder to take care of your body. Stretch a little, move a little, and give yourself credit for every bit of progress you’ve made this week — big or small. 💪

Take a few minutes today to move — roll your shoulders, loosen up your back, or take a short walk. Your body will thank you for it.

At Active Physio Health, we believe feeling good starts with small moments of care. Keep showing up for yourself and making movement a part of your day — even in the simple ways.

Here’s to a weekend filled with rest, energy, and pain-free movement. 💙

💛 It’s Occupational Therapy Week!

This week, we’re shining a light on the people who make independence possible , who our amazing Occupational Therapists.

They’re the ones teaching a stroke survivor to button a shirt again. The ones helping someone regain confidence after an injury.
The ones cheering quietly when a patient says, “I can do it myself.”

Occupational therapy isn’t just about recovery, it’s about living. It’s about finding joy in the everyday, one small victory at a time.

Behind every small success story is an OT quietly guiding, supporting, and empowering. Their work isn’t just about therapy; it’s about restoring confidence, dignity, and hope.

From all of us at Active Physio Health, thank you to every OT making a difference. You remind us every day that progress is personal and every step forward counts. 🙌

🎓 Understanding Rotator Cuff Syndrome

Your shoulder is one of the most mobile joints in the body — and the rotator cuff plays a big role in keeping it that way.

The rotator cuff is a group of four muscles and their tendons that stabilize your shoulder joint and help you lift and rotate your arm. When these muscles or tendons become inflamed, strained, or torn, it leads to Rotator Cuff Syndrome.

⚠️ Common Causes
• Repetitive overhead activities (like lifting, painting, or sports)
• Poor posture or shoulder mechanics
• Age-related wear and tear
• Sudden heavy lifting or trauma

💬 Typical Symptoms
• Dull ache deep in the shoulder
• Pain that worsens at night or with overhead movement
• Shoulder weakness or stiffness
• Limited range of motion

💪 How Physiotherapy Helps

Physiotherapy is one of the most effective ways to recover from rotator cuff issues. Treatment focuses on:
✔️ Reducing inflammation and pain
✔️ Restoring shoulder strength and flexibility
✔️ Correcting posture and movement patterns
✔️ Preventing recurrence through tailored exercise programs

🌟 Takeaway

Ignoring shoulder pain can worsen the condition over time. Early physiotherapy intervention can restore mobility, relieve pain, and get you back to doing what you love — pain-free.

At Active Physio Health, we specialize in individualized care plans for shoulder injuries and NDIS-supported treatments.
