I am SO EXCITED to announce I am now a certified Filial Therapy Facilitator. Filial Therapy is about strengthening the parent-child relationship, & supporting parents to become therapeutic agents in their children’s lives.

This is a 10 week program, where you (parent/carer), work closely with myself (therapist), as I help you develop the basic skills to support your child, & strengthen your relationship. These are invaluable skills that will stay with you, & can help enhance all relationships, especially those with children.

One of the most beautiful parts of my job is when children feel safe and have a high level of trust in my unconditional positive regard for them. Only then can they begin to deeply explore the inner conflicts they are experiencing. There is nothing a child could show me or tell me that I would stop them from sharing. Sometimes a limit may need to be set, and guidance given on how to appropriately communicate a topic, but it is important that they know they can share absolutely anything with me and I accept them (free of judgement) no matter what.
Once we reach the point where they feel safe to explore behaviours that ‘outside’ they could be reprimanded for, or told ‘that’s yucky’, or ‘that’s wrong’, I know we are embarking on a wonderful journey together ❤️
