π Endometriosis: Letβs Talk About It π
Endometriosis affects 1 in 7 women and people presumed female at birth β and for many, symptoms can be invisible but lifeβchanging. π§ π
It happens when tissue, similar to the lining of the uterus, grows outside the uterus, often causing pelvic pain, fatigue, and fertility challenges β though some people may have no symptoms at all.
π©Ί How is it diagnosed?
The only way to confirm endometriosis is through laparoscopy, a small surgical procedure. In some cases, doctors may suspect it based on symptoms or imaging results.
πΏ Treatment options
Thereβs no single βbestβ treatment β and currently no cure β but symptoms can be managed through a combination of medical, surgical, and allied health care, tailored to each person.
