Bobs Garage

Bobs Garage It’s not just a building — it’s a movement to build better lives, together.

Bob’s Garage is a dedicated men’s health and wellbeing hub in Gladstone, created to support local blokes of all ages through connection, support services, and practical help. Established by McCosker as a community gift, the space brings together local organisations to deliver counselling, health programs, and mateship in a safe, welcoming environment.

The Pit Stop returns Tonight at Bob’s Garage 🔥

Sometimes the hardest part is just showing up — so let’s make it easy.

Join us tonight for a relaxed evening of connection, conversation and support with other local men. No pressure, no expectations — just a good group of blokes coming together.

Not sure about jumping straight into a circle?
Start with the Walking4Warriors social walk at 5:30pm — a casual walk designed to break down barriers, get moving, and connect with others in a comfortable environment.
Then stick around afterwards for a BBQ, a snag and a chat as The Pit Stop men’s circle kicks off.

Whether you feel like sharing your story or just listening in, you’re welcome here. Sometimes positive change starts with one small step — even just turning up.

📅 Monday 11 May
🚶 Walking 4 Warriors Walk – 5:30pm
🌭 BBQ + Pit Stop Men’s Circle to follow - 6.30pm
📍 Bob’s Garage – 10 William Street, Gladstone

May is Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Month — it may not be you, but someone around you may need support.
Pressure builds — but it doesn’t have to spill over.
Life comes with challenges — finances, relationships, responsibilities — and sometimes it can feel like it all stacks up at once.
When that pressure isn’t managed, it can come out in ways we don’t intend.
Taking a moment to reset can change the outcome.
If things are building up:
• pause
• step away
• talk it out
• reach out early
Support is available in our community:

May is Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Month — a time to stop, reflect, and have the conversations that matter.
Domestic and family violence isn’t always visible — but it’s more common than many people realise, and it impacts individuals, families, and communities right around us.
Across Australia:
• 1 in 5 adults have experienced violence from an intimate partner or family member since age 15
• 97,800 offenders were recorded in 2024–25 — the highest on record
Who is impacted
👩 1 in 4 women
👨 1 in 13 men
have experienced violence by an intimate partner
⚠️ 1 in 5 adults have experienced physical or sexual domestic and family violence
In Queensland:
• Over half of all assaults are DFV-related
• Nearly 1 in 3 property damage offences are linked to DFV
• Breaches of protection orders have risen significantly
This isn’t something that happens “somewhere else” — it’s happening in our communities, often behind closed doors.
Domestic and family violence can build over time — through pressure, stress, and how we respond when things feel out of control.
That’s why this month matters.
It’s about:
• being aware
• checking in with ourselves and others
• speaking up
• reaching out early
If something doesn’t feel right — trust that instinct and take a step.

Support is here for you and those around you;
• Bob’s Garage
• Gladstone Mindcare
• Headspace Gladstone
• Gladstone Women’s Health Centre

This ANZAC Day, we remember the courage, sacrifice and resilience of the men and women who served our country.

Many of those who returned carried more than what could be seen — and that’s something that still resonates today.

At Bob’s Garage, we recognise that while the battles may look different now, many are still doing it tough in silence.

This is your reminder — check in on your mates.
Have the conversation.
Make the call.
Show up.

You don’t have to carry it all on your own.

If you need a space to talk, to listen, or just to be around good people — Bob’s Garage is here.

Because looking after your mates… that’s what it’s all about.

Lest We Forget.

Australia Day can mean different things to different people. For some it’s a day of celebration, for others it can be a quieter or more complicated time — and that’s okay.

At Bob’s Garage, we want to remind everyone that looking after your mental health matters just as much as your physical health. If today feels heavy, lonely, or overwhelming, you don’t have to carry it on your own.

Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is check in — on yourself, or on a mate, family member or colleague who might be doing it tough.

Connection doesn’t have to be big.

A message, a call, a coffee, a walk — it all counts.

If you need support, Bob’s Garage is here.
And if it’s urgent, please reach out to one of the 24/7 services available.

Take care of yourself today and take care of each other. 💙

✨ Happy New Year from Bob’s Garage ✨

As we step into 2026, we invite you to make this the year of connection.

Whether that connection is with us — through our soft-entry walking groups, circle programs, or professional support services — or simply by checking in on your mates, family, neighbours or colleagues, every connection matters.

Health isn’t just physical. Mental and emotional wellbeing are just as important, and taking care of yourself is not something to put off. In 2026, give yourself permission to make your health a priority and to reach out when you need support.

At Bob’s Garage, we believe in connection over correction — creating safe, welcoming spaces where men can talk, listen and support one another without judgement.

Let’s make 2026 a year where we show up for ourselves and each other.
Connection starts with one conversation.

From all of us at Bob’s Garage, we wish you a safe, healthy and connected New Year. 💙
