Introducing “The Pit Stop” – Men’s Circles at Bob’s Garage

Life doesn’t come with a manual — but you don’t have to navigate it alone.

From April 20, Bob’s Garage is launching The Pit Stop — a structured, safe and confidential space for men to come together, talk openly, and support one another.

These aren’t surface-level chats.
This is real conversation.

Led by professional counsellors and respected members of our community with lived experience, The Pit Stop is designed to give men a place to:

Share what’s really going on
Listen without judgment
Build connection and support
Take a moment to reset and refocus

No pressure. No fixing. No ego.
Just a space to be heard.

Whether you’re going through a tough time or just want to connect with other good men — this is for you.

All men are welcome.

Bob’s Garage is hosting a Financial Wellbeing Drop-In Session on Wednesday 8th April from 10am – 4pm, and all men are welcome to come along.

Join Bree from Good Shepherd Australia New Zealand and get practical support to build your financial confidence — including understanding your credit report, accessing your score, and learning ways to improve it.

This is a relaxed drop-in session, so come by at a time that suits you, have a chat, and take a step towards better financial wellbeing.

Introducing “Pit Stop” at Bob’s Garage.

Starting Monday 20 April, Bob’s Garage will host Pit Stop – Men’s Talking Circles, held every second Monday from 6:30pm in our purpose-built garden space.

Like a vehicle, we all need a pit stop sometimes — a chance to check in, connect, and reset.

Join other men from across our region for a relaxed evening of conversation, connection, and a BBQ. No pressure, no judgement — just a supportive space to talk, listen, and share.

On Saturday, Bob’s Garage hosted a focus group session to help shape a new Men’s Circle program designed specifically for our local community.

A big thank you to John and Marion from Connetica consulting guiding the conversation and supporting the development of what we believe will be a powerful initiative for the men of Gladstone.

We were pleased to see a wide range of voices in the room — community members, service providers, and participants who will be involved in delivering the program. The feedback, ideas and lived experience shared will play an important role in making sure this program truly meets local needs.

We’re excited about what’s coming and look forward to bringing this to life at Bob’s Garage.

Australia Day can mean different things to different people. For some it’s a day of celebration, for others it can be a quieter or more complicated time — and that’s okay.

At Bob’s Garage, we want to remind everyone that looking after your mental health matters just as much as your physical health. If today feels heavy, lonely, or overwhelming, you don’t have to carry it on your own.
