During Coeliac Awareness Week, we recognise that Coeliac Disease extends beyond physical health.
From symptoms such as fatigue, digestive concerns and brain fog, to the psychological impact of managing a lifelong condition—both physical and mental wellbeing are important.
Supporting adjustment, emotional regulation, and coping with the demands of a gluten-free lifestyle can make a meaningful difference.

If you or your child would benefit from support, appointments are available at Accentuate Psychology.

Anxiety in children doesn’t always look the way we expect.
It can show up as irritability instead of fear. Withdrawal instead of worry. Perfectionism instead of panic.
If you’ve noticed changes in your child — in their mood, sleep, friendships, or confidence — it may be a sign they’re feeling overwhelmed internally.
Some key signs to look for include:
• Persistent worrying
• Physical complaints like headaches or stomach aches
• Avoiding school or social situations
• Sleep difficulties
• Increased irritability
• Harsh self-criticism or fear of failure
When anxiety becomes persistent or begins interfering with daily life, professional support can help young people build coping skills and confidence.
At Accentuate Psychology, we work collaboratively with children and families to create a safe, compassionate space for growth.
If you’re concerned about your child, we’re here to help.

Welcome to Accentuate Psychology — a space created to help individuals and families find understanding, support, and healing. 🌿

We specialise in supporting those experiencing eating disorders, body image concerns, and child and adolescent mental health challenges such as anxiety and depression.

We are co-located with the experienced team of dieticians from Nourish & Thrive and can provide wrap around care to anyone requiring both services, such as those referred under an Eating Disorders care plan.

Our approach is compassionate, evidence-based, and collaborative — because everyone’s journey toward wellbeing is unique.
If you or someone you care about is ready to take the first step, we’re here to help. 💚

Hi, I’m Amanda 👋 and I’m so excited to share that my new private practice, Accentuate Psychology, is now open!

Accentuate Psychology was created from my passion for walking alongside people of all ages as they navigate challenges like anxiety, body image concerns, eating disorders, ARFID, depression, and neurodiversity.

My vision is simple: to create a safe, compassionate space where healing feels possible, and where we can highlight and accentuate the strengths already within you.

We are conveniently located within Nourish & Thrive, allowing for cohesive support for anyone also needing dietician support.
