Ced & Rowena have been making the trek north to the green hills of the Atherton Tablelands for many years now. Having entered the stud cattle game back in 1964, the Pearce family have worked tirelessly and meticulously to create their highly-impressive Telpara Hills Brangus & Ultrablacks herd, using the best genetics from all over the world.
The Wise Repro, Rocky Repro and Ced Wise AB Services team feel honoured to be the bovine reproduction professionals the Pearce family entrust with their stock. We wish them all the very best for their upcoming sale on Saturday 20th September.
Without reproductive technologies, your best cow might be lucky to have 12 calves in her lifetime, half of which might be female. That's just 6 she leaves behind. It's a slow way to build a herd.
However, with ET and IVF you can easily do that in a year. In a few years, those 6 can have 6 more each, and a snowball effect happens and your herd is rocketed forward.
Ced and his team at Wise Repro as well as IGT have been instrumental in building the herd at Telpara Hills, which is why we can offer so many superior animals, especially heifers which other herds cannot afford to let go.
Ced has been part of the Telpara Family for many years, conducting countless embryo transfer programmes over the years, semen testing, and endless amounts of support and advice.
Using Artificial Insemination is the start. It's step one in an instant improvement, but if you really want to advance your herd you have to use both sides of the genetic equation, multiplying your best cows.
These days we are doing more and more work with IGT as IVF has become very successful, but ET still has it's place.
We also work closely with Rocky Repro with our semen arm, Telpara Global Genetics.
