Are you stuck somewhere in your life? Not going forward?
Is it you are not getting the promotion you want?
Not being appreciated for your work and commitment, your contribution?
I’ve been there too. I tried multiple times to get a promotion, I even had various mentors read and coach me on my applications and resumes. I did the long hours and took on extra workplace roles, like fire warden.
So yeah. I would get an interview, make it onto the merit list. Nothing ever came of it.
Upon reflection, maybe I wasn’t meant to stay on as a career as a public servant. I started out gungho and wanted to reach branch-head, the senior executive levels.
Part of me realized that I was getting in my way. After a while I realized I really wasn’t all that happy with life. I was getting some coaching and digging deep into my backlogged emotions – I was told that I bottled them up or that I was disconnected. My emotional output, my energy or vibration, wasn’t in alignment with what the interview boards were looking for – unconsciously.
During this period, I also had seen the senior executives come in early go home late and get called in on the weekends, and had lost interest in that type of life. I decided I wanted a much simpler life. Work in a comic shop, the one I went to opened at a leisurely 10am, and live near the beach.
What was it I did?
💎Got myself some coaching and /or counselling
💎Changed my focus, went and did things I was interested in, energy work skills
💎Found ways to understand myself better ie personalized astrology chart
💎Went and got personalized wellbeing support with a kinesiologist
Where can you start? What can you do that is cost effective?
💙Understand your values, ie the things that are highly important to you – actionable things
💙Draw your life story, a time line/spiral, mark on it what ever comes to mind, out it aside and come back to it in a couple of days and add to it – look for patterns
💙Ask yourself are you doing this occupation because you like it? Or was there family influences – journal it
💙Write out what you want your life to look like in three years time, without limiting yourself to what you see right now. Include how it feels, the emotions.
What did I do? Well I took the opportunity to take a year’s leave and house sat, interstate. Not quite the beach. And did many of the above things, over and over again including continual personalised support.
