Lest We Forget. This year more than ever! These incredible men and women fought for our freedoms which are slowly but surely being stripped from us under the guise of ‘for our safety’. It is time to remember what they sacrificed for us and time we stood up for our rights. In this day and age ignorance is a choice. Choose wisely ❤️ I am so grateful for their resilience, determination and courage. I am certain with them behind me I too will show the same. Where do you stand?

🚴‍♀️ Sooo made a promise to myself after a couple of REALLY lazy days, if I want to watch anything on Netflix I have to cycle. Completely packed up my treatment room and found my old bike stand under the house👍

🚴‍♀️ Shame I picked the episode that went for 60 mins😳, cream crackered by the end but we’ve got this💪

Pottering about today and found some old favourites to listen too. I was immediately transported back to living in my flat in Kingston in the UK, road trips to Scotland to see family and friends, clearly slight Pearl Jam phase, and back to studying nursing with one of the best soundtracks ever from the film Good Morning, Vietnam. Still know it word for word🤣
Janet’s was a sad time when I was specialising in CCU at RMH and lost 4 close family members to cancer, this song helped me get through it and just keep on going one day at a time. Today I am listening to Janet again with a happier vibe as we will all soon be together again once we beat Rona and life gets more normal!
What music takes you back? 🎼 📀

Basically any clinic still treating clients, I think we all know where they are in this picture. As difficult as it is and as uncertain for our financial futures please think of others first, most of us are in the same boat. (Not sure of source of pic) -19 recovery

Something I have regularly for breakfast is a green smoothie.

I put in a couple of handfuls of baby spinach, tablespoon Tahini paste, k**b ginger, juice of a lemon, half an avo, tsp green matcha powder, tsp Maca powder, tsp DrLibby’s Bio Blends daily greens and radiant reds and water/ice.

It’s different every time and also a different colour each time but tastes great and gives my immune system a boost. Just what we all need right now😊

⚡️ It is with a heavy heart and much deliberation that I am shutting up shop... for now. Working in different hospitals it is inevitable I will be exposed to or even contract the Coronavirus. My health and my client's is paramount therefore I am socially isolating myself when not nursing. It is about minimising the risk to yourself and others. Do not use this time to 'catch up' with friends or arrange play dates for your children. Isolate, isolate, isolate! Listen to the professionals. ⚡️We were told yesterday at work we were not to wear masks, despite being coughed on by patients, as there simply were not enough and there is a delay on delivery due to the demand. DO NOT wear a mask unless you yourself have the virus - if so you should be completely isolating yourself at home anyway, OR you are immuno compromised. You are putting the healthcare workers that are there to look after you and your loved ones, at risk! The virus is not airborne so you don't need a mask walking down the street, or through a deserted airport 😳... ⚡️Thank you to my wonderful clients and friends who have already reached out to 'check in', the support has been overwhelming. There is a wonderful push to support local and small business. Don't forget you can purchase gift vouchers to help those who have had to close with no other source of income. ⚡️Even though I am not physically treating I am more than happy to help/advise over the phone if you need. In the mean time look after one another, be sensible and don't panic, this too shall pass and keep moving! And if all else fails...barter with bog roll😉

🌻 Yesterday I was feeling really unsettled about the current situation. The uncertainty, how will I pay my bills and continue to live with no income, if I don’t work I don’t get paid, no sick leave, no holiday pay, no partner to support me etc etc. It’s probably the first time that I’ve felt that fear.

🌻 SO, how did I deal with that.

🌻 I’ve learnt over the years to trust that all will be well, you will get through the situation you are in, today is just one day, the sun will still set tonight and rise again tomorrow and so will you.

🌻I did a couple of minutes of box breathing....breathe in for a count of four, hold for a count of four, breathe out for a count of four and hold for a count of four and repeat. This diaphragmatic breathing helps switch us out of our sympathetic - panic/stress state into our parasympathetic - rest and repair state calming the nervous system.

🌻 I looked at my sunflowers ...I cannot see a sunflower without smiling. They make me feel happy with their bright yellow petals and turning their heads toward the sun. They make me feel warm like looking at the sun and grounded and helped to get me out of my head.

🌻 I also burned some essential oils in my diffuser. I used Frankincense, Bergamot and Eucalyptus. Using all of our senses helps to ground us, bring us back to the present moment instead of worrying about what may or may not happen in the future and creating problems that just aren’t there. All essential oils also have antimicrobial, antifungal and antibacterial properties so not only did they smell good and make me feel happier but they are cleaning the air I breathe.

🌻 What are you doing to make you feel happier, more grounded and more accepting of the situation at hand???
