When lenses are just dark without proper UV blocking, your pupils open up behind them. That allows even more harmful UV rays to enter your eyes. Over time, that can damage the lens and retina.

So when I tell my patients to buy sunglasses, I don’t say “buy dark ones.” I say check for:

✓ UV400 protection
✓ Polarized lenses
✓ Back surface anti-reflective coating

Style is fine. But protection comes first.

Your eyes need real shielding, not just shade. ☀️👁️
