Hello beautiful ladies 😍❤️

📣 For all new mothers👩‍🍼/current mothers 👩‍👦‍👦& mothers to-be 🤰

Understanding your pelvic health is very important. How do you know if you have pelvic floor dysfunction❔

1️⃣If you have bladder or bowel issues
2️⃣If you have pelvic pain, prolapse or sexual dysfunction

What are the different causes for PF dysfunction❔

At least 1/3rd of women experience this more so after childbirth contributed by:
1️⃣increased weight
2️⃣constipation
3️⃣smoking
4️⃣coughing (due to health condition or environment)
5️⃣Repetitive heavy lifting

How can you help yourself❔
✅Good news is you do not need to put up with these. If you regularly use your pelvic floor muscles, you can try to self manage.💯

The Pelvic Floor Exercise:
☑️Tighten your front and back passage, short squeeze and release them - as if avoiding wee and wind together - tighten up into a bed and release them as an open flower
☑️Short squeezes help you manage urges during coughing and sneezing or quick change in your movements.
☑️Long hold - squeeze the back and the front passage and hold up to 5 seconds and release. Start with fewer seconds and build up each day.

🧘‍♀️Relaxation is as important as your contraction, ensure you relax up to 10seconds before squeezing again.

Position: This is best done in lying 🛌 or sitting 🪑 than in standing until you are familiar and comfortable with your pelvic floor.

🔄Repetition: You will need to do these exercises at least 3-4 times per day and continue them over 3 months for you to be truly effective.

🟢Ensure you attend a periodic review by an experienced professional to check your effectiveness.

🥳At SA physiotherapy, we have an offer for this Mother’s Day to create awareness among young mothers❕
What will you get❔

✅A free phone consult to discuss with our pelvic floor physiotherapist 🆓

✅We will help you raise your awareness and understanding of “what to do next”🤔

✅If specific examination is required one gap free consult will be made available for you.

Contact SA Physiotherapy on 82638844 or drop us a message or comment to book your free phone consultation! Good luck ladies! See you soon 🤗
