Today I’m thinking about the many women who quietly do their part every day.
Women who care deeply about the people and world around them.
Women who support families, friends and communities, often without drawing attention to themselves.
They simply live their values.
In my work, I meet these women every day.
Women who are caring for others while also trying to understand their own health — their energy, their hormones, their skin, their digestion, their wellbeing.
They don’t always stop to acknowledge how much they carry.
But their care, effort and contribution matter.
So today feels like a good day to simply say:
You are seen.
You are valued.
And your health matters too.
If this reminds you of someone in your life, feel free to share it with them today.
Happy International Women’s Day.

Gallbladder + Bile Flow Focus
Constipation or bloating after gallbladder removal?
It’s common.
And it’s rarely assessed properly.
The gallbladder regulates bile release.
Without it, bile flow changes.
That can impact:
• fat digestion
• bowel consistency
• microbiome balance
• nutrient absorption
• motility
Many people are told:
“You just have IBS now.”
But sometimes it’s bile physiology.
In clinic, I assess:
• surgical history
• digestion patterns
• bile flow
• motility
• bacterial overgrowth
• thyroid + metabolic markers
Then we create a gentle, practical plan.

If your digestion has never been the same since surgery…
You are not imagining it.
It’s common.
It’s physiological.
And it can often be supported.
Digestive changes after surgery don’t mean:
“You’re broken.”
They mean:
Your body now requires a different strategy.

This is not just something I treat professionally.
Before becoming a naturopath, I personally lived with an ileostomy for two years.
I experienced:
• adhesions
• bacterial overgrowth
• unpredictable digestion
• nutrient challenges
I understand how frustrating it is when your body feels different — and no one explains why.
Post-surgical digestion requires a different approach.
Not harsh cleanses.
Not aggressive laxatives.
But strategic support:
✔ bile flow
✔ motility
✔ microbial balance
✔ nutrient absorption
✔ nervous system regulation
If you want experienced, practical guidance — I’m here.

Education Focus (Adhesions + Physiology)
Most people are told:
“Your surgery was successful.”
But no one explains what happens next.
After abdominal surgery, internal scar tissue (adhesions) form in up to 90% of people.
That tissue doesn’t glide like healthy bowel does.
It can:
• slow transit
• alter motility
• trap gas
• change bacterial balance
So when someone tells me:
“My digestion hasn’t been the same since surgery…”
I believe them.
Because often there is a clear physiological reason.
And it’s manageable — when we assess properly.
If your gut changed after surgery, you're not imagining it.

If your body isn’t responding the way it used to, it’s rarely about effort — it’s about signalling

I work alongside personal trainers and health coaches to support the systems that sit underneath performance:

• gut health
• hormone signalling
• stress physiology
• metabolic recovery
• nervous system regulation

Because when these systems aren’t functioning optimally, the body stops adapting — no matter how good the training program is.

This isn’t about replacing your coach.
It’s about making the work you’re already doing actually translate into results.

In this week’s blog I explain why testosterone is often the last piece, not the first.
